Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I've been a subscriber since about 2005 I think and next year will be my first year without it at least from the start. I have another grey market subscription service where I get all sports for $10 a month and run it through a kodi add-on. Some things are in HD like NFL and EPL but most baseball games are in SD (which is still better than cable/satellite sd). I think I can live with that until at least May/June when they start adding rest of year packages for $50. Which addon? I'm scared those providers will disappear one day and take my money but if you pay by month then it's ok. I have a working IPTV stalker clone, they added nba league pass yesterday but the quality is not good.

I don't want to say because the more popular it gets the more attention that is drawn to it the more the powers that be will want to shut it down. I'm not sure something like this could live through the TPP if Canada signs on. This service has all NFL, get about 40 NCAAF games on Saturdays, MLB, NBA, NHL, Golf, Autoracing, EPL, Liga, Champions League, some Serie A, Bundasliga, Ligue 1, even some 2nd and 3rd division Euro soccer leagues. Also has Australian sports like Rugby and AFL, lots of international cricket. It's $60 every 6 months and it is by invite only (they open invites once or twice a year) and if the people you invite get banned for account sharing/selling you get banned too.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Isn't it basically the same price if you split a MLB.tv sub with another person?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 MLB.tv has dropped the price of season package to $109 which is only 1 million Canadian
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Is that a limited time offer? Is this the best time to buy?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Is that a limited time offer? Is this the best time to buy? it had been $129 for a year. of course it's USD. Of course they will lower the price part way through the season, but I just didn't want to be looking for a stream every game or a download if I can't see the game live. Most games are streamed, but not always in good quality and not many jays games are turned into torrents.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I ended up just biting the bullet and re-upped. I really don't want to work too hard to try and watch the early season games before the mid-season price adjustment.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 God dammit I just renewed last week at $129... Super s***** of them to reduce the price 1 day after the auto-renewal date (March 1st).
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 The value of MLB.tv seems to go way up when you will actually use it on multiple devices. Being able to stream games on the PS4, laptop, or phone is just so nice. It also helps that it comes with At Bat (which I usually buy anyway for $20) and that I don't have cable or satellite.

Price was reduced before the auto renewal, but apparently the auto renewal price remained at 129. You had to cancel the auto renewal then subscribe again to get the discounted price.

I've used it to listen to games while driving or watching games when I not home and connected. Streams really good quality. It's come a long way. I remember the old 360p that was horrible quality, but it was always better than not seeing games. Now it's HD to any mobile device with a good connection.
43211234 Verified Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Wow, I saw that the price had been cut but if the auto-renew really wasn't reduced that is ********. It hasn't shown up on my credit card yet but I will definitely contact them if I do get charged $129. Also, does anyone know if Baseball Prospectus will be offering 20% off mlb.tv for their premium member again this year? Draftkings and BP still have the deal on where you get a year of BP premium if you create a Draftkings account and make an initial deposit of at least $10. Unfortunately the BP coupon code for mlb.tv couldn't be applied retroactively and I had already signed up to mlb.tv for the season so I couldn't take advantage of combining these deals last year. Getting 20% off mlb.tv, geting a year of BP and having $10 to play around with in draftkings is pretty nice for that $10 investment.

That's good. mlb.tv is such a ridiculously good deal for Blue Jays fans. No blackouts plus the ability to watch in the postseason.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Do they still have that thing where a bunch of people can subscribe together and get a lower price?
43211234 Verified Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Do they still have that thing where a bunch of people can subscribe together and get a lower price? As far as I know nothing like that exists. By the way, does anyone here want to split an account? Preferably someone whose username I recognize.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 How many devices can you use one account on? I use MLBtv on my phone, laptop, xbox, and i've let my dad and co-worker use the account a few times. So that's 5 devices and no problems

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 exchange rate is brutal No kidding, I keep wanting to buy a dashcam, but ones that are for $70 US cost well over a hundred once customs and taxes get applied. Just not the time to be purchasing anything outside of Canada. (although most of the retailers have adjusted to the s***** canadian dollar) same, I also use it at every game... helpful in postseason when they left the crowds in wonderment... and love the replays Like while at the dome?? Never thought of using it there

All these dope new 2016 models that are US only... A $2000 guitar ends up costing like $3500 after shipping, taxes, duty, etc. Not even worth buying a nice guitar right now.
