Shapiro just seems like due diligence. I'm sure theyve contacted 5 other guys who just haven't been reported.

Whoever gets hired one of the first improvements they need to make is getting better medical equipment in RC and Dunedin. Its embarrassing how s***** and old the equipment they use is. Don't think its a coincidence players seem to take longer to heal playing for this organization.

I'd love to see some new blood in the training staff too. Its amazing how entrenched Poulos is even though guys like Saunders, Martin, Travis, Bautista, Reyes (okay maybe take him with a grain of salt), and Edwin are all seemingly mishandled year after year. And I am not talking about the original injury here either. Just seeing guys come back too early from their respective injuries, knowing its too soon even as a casual fan, and then promptly watching the injury blow up in their face and become even worse than the original diagnosis is so disheartening as a fan. I shudder to think about Tulo's not too distant future DL debacles, let alone marcus stromans current situation. I'd also love it if they hired one of those new sports science type guys like the leafs and raps have hired recently. Maybe they have and I just havent heard about it yet, but either way those guys are definitely the next wave in proper training and injury prevention.

So Rosenthal had an article about AA (pls delete if already posted):

He seems to think AA will have no problem finding another GM job.

Steve Simmons has a similar article out.

Of course AA will get another GM job. Dave f***ing Stewart has a GM job, lol. At the very least he'll get a very high position that will eventually lead back into a GM job. Really just depends what jobs open up this winter.

Do you think he won't be here nexy year?

Players have tweeted out pitctures of the medical room and you can just tell everything is old and crappy. Players have complained about it in the past as well.

Rogers too cheap to spend money on it even though the ROI on it would be pretty high.

Bautista was on MLB network either last year or the year before and said they've been asking ownership for new equipment a lot. I think it was a hyperbolic chamber but can't remember 100%. Blue jays writers have said the equipment needs upgrades as well.

No idea Spank but at the very least he'll be a GM somewhere, methinks.

i dont know anything about the training equipment if thats what ur asking about. i was just riffing off the original comment about how frustrating these injuries are and how sick i am of poulis leading the charge to bungle things up. its not all black and white obviously but there are some really obvious situations like michael saunders for example who was rushed and never looked right for one single solitary second when he was on the field. russell martin right now is another obvious one. he aint as black and white as saunders obviously but this also shows how ineffective poulis could be as a leader of the training staff. if hes saying martin should go on the dl and gibbons ignores him then we should get someone who commands respect in that position and not some yes-man (we know the players always ignore the trainer and can always play every game so their opinion is kind of moot. every athlete is boobie miles). i feel like there has to be some responsibility taken for these types of things cuz they are happening constantly. plus maybe there are some new medical techniques poulis was never schooled in. the medical profession changes rapidly these days so maybe his old(ish) school approach is simply letting the team down. i just see very few reasons why his job should not be in jeopardy year after year. its probably a cash thing sadly enough. i bet he comes cheap.

the only facts and results you can point to in this situation are the injuries and subsequent re-injuries themselves. i'd say there is a pretty constant trend there. do you think otherwise?

So because they re-injure themselves its the trainers fault? Faulty logic.

A bit too much Beeston praise in this article for my liking aside, pretty similar indeed.

Thing about the way ownership acted last off season is that they managed to make Beeston somewhat likable. At least compared with them.

We'll see what happens.

well obviously they are a big part of it. outside the players themselves the trainer is the biggest part. how is the trainer NOT to blame in this situation, even partly?

also i just googled this term 'fangraphs training staff injury prevention' cuz i thought i remembered they ranked the training staffs a few years back and of course the first article on the list involves the blue jays.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/blue-jays-pitchers-hurt-at-record-pace/

i wouldnt even really want to use that as a support piece here though cuz pitcher attrition rate is always low. i just thought it was amusing is all. all the specific example players i mentioned were hitters except for stroman anyways.
