I love his suits.

Haha I do too. Zaun is always looking sharp, can't take that away from him!

It's kind of unsettling that I'm hearing his voice while reading these.

It works with any sentence! Try it.

"Sometimes I have to autoerotic asphyxiate myself with a neck tie in order to get an erection. Not sayin' I'm proud of it, But it is what it is."

"Nice move Alex, you fat Greek f***. Never in my life i would think i'd see a 12-2 pitcher be sent down without any injury relation, embarrassing and disrespectful as i bet Alex sent him an email informing him. BTW Alex, i'm in section 134 every home game if you feel the need to find me."

Cites Marcus' height as the reason why.

I'm relatively certain he will never make disparaging remarks against ANYONE'S height.

He said Stroman shouldn't be a starter because he's short

This doesn't make sense.

Tell me again how sending Hutch to the semi pros makes sense on the heels of saying Buehrle is beat up and needs a break. Over my head

Gregg Zaun ‏@GreggZaun 8m8 minutes ago

Can't get Hutch back here inside of 10 days without someone going gone the DL. Puzzling moves indeed

Gregg Zaun ‏@GreggZaun 6m6 minutes ago

I would skip Hutch on the 23rd of this month and pitch a HEALTHY Mark Buehrle. I'd skip him of 9-19 as well, but sending him out???

Gregg Zaun ‏@GreggZaun 4m4 minutes ago

Sending Loup out freed up a roster spot. Add a position player. Just worried to lose him if someone like Buehrle just needs a blow.

Gregg Zaun ‏@GreggZaun 2m2 minutes ago

If Beurhle is fine then maybe I see the validity of the move but I hadn't been informed there was no longer concern

Whatever he says has to make more sense than Kevin Barker...

I HATE listening to Barker. At least Zaun was a good player and a WS champion, Barker was a journeyman nobody... I don't want to hear his opinion on anything.

Barker's 2006 with the Jays was a fun one. .500 BABIP, 25.0% HR/FB, 86 wRC+, -0.1 WAR.

Have you listened to Joe Siddall much? He didn't have much of a career but he's EXCELLENT on the radio.

I have, he reminds me of Alan Ashby, who I liked a lot.

Yep. I thought exactly the same thing when he started. I always thought Ashby should have been on TV instead of Tabler.

Not sure of the exact phraseology but at some point he will say "mark my words", "the kid just needs" and "ignore the fact that".

Agree on Ashby and Siddall. For whatever reasons their commentary seems measured and thoughtful. Not a bunch of hollow platitudes and empty derp to fill air time.

What does being a good player have to do with anything? How good of a player you were has ZERO to do with what kind of an analyst you are. Barker is bad at both...but him being a fringe ballplayer isn't the reason why I don't want him to open his mouth.

That's a fair point. I think Joe Madden only made it to A ball but he seems to know the game ok.

There's a strong correlation between how good of a player you were and how much ignorance I can tolerate from you as an analyst. I call this the Reynolds Curve.

Tabler is the worst for that I've ever heard

That is EXACTLY who I was thinking of when I typed that! "He is just a ballplayer" yada yada yada

Or as Buck Martinez would say, MAYzhurred. Probably learned that when he was playing ammadur baseball.

"Every baseball career is full of ups and downs but let me tell you, the kid is a battler and he's only 24! He'll take this as a learning experience and come back stronger than ever."
