Who would make a good moderator?

I dunno, I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't post frequently who are on this forum quite regularly. Even as difficult as it has been to navigate of late I'm still on this forum many times throughout the day.

I like Deadpool, BTS, King, realaccountant, jonn, intentionalwok and Boxcar as possible mods.

 

Bigbouncyballs (anyone who says "I need to be a mod" doesn't need to be a mod), twistedlogic and atothe seem to emotional to be mods.

 

That's my 2 cents. New mods should be monitored closely and removed immediately if they are poor. You guys have one of the best forums going here .

Regarding the sabermetric topic, there needs to be some respect from both camps. There are those(like myself) that are more old school and not into all that number crunching, comes from being a 35 year old dinosaur that's been watching baseball for 23 years.

 

I like the idea that there is Trump-like candidate who, instead of basing his candidacy on irrational dislike of immigrants, is running on an anti-dinosaur platform.

 

He cites Jurassic Park as evidence of what this oppressed minority is capable of but doesn't realize a lot of his constituents have a little bit of anti-sabr in them and just want a better forum for their stegosaurus children.

Regarding the sabermetric topic, there needs to be some respect from both camps. Lol I know a lot of the younger guys are really into it, and that's fine.. but just keep in mind that the old school folks are not dumb just because we look at the game of baseball from a more simplistic angle. On the flip side of that, I also feel that the sabermetric guys bring a lot to the table and nobody should berate or belittle them for it. I respect their knowledge and have even learned some things. I guess you can teach an old dog some new tricks.

But at the same time there are also intangibles that matter. I like to think I've learned a lot on the numbers from some of the guys on here.

Camps as in people who believe in one thing and people who go by something else. Nothing wrong with that, just how it goes.. as long as there is mutual respect and tolerance. I've learned a lot as well, really opened my eyes to some different things. I enjoy it and appreciate them sharing their knowledge.

I also said want like and am a very passionate person when it comes to this place! I have probably suffered more attacks then some of the other Mods on the list. I am not a member of any of the boards little clicks or hives that exist! I also am a Jays fan and have been for years, I am Canadian !

 

I also said I look forward to severing you all and this board! Need want desire passion and drive, time to roll up my selves and take out some Trash !

 

I am also one and maybe the only one who truely wants to serve this board and its members without bias and do what is right for it! I want to make it a better place and see it grow! Ask Dylan about what I was willing to give for the Home run contest alone. Ask admin who actually penned him a letter about this and the board. Ask the Gman and 02 who also wrote to them about it? Bet you I am the " only one" why cause I really do care about the health and recent state of affairs in here!

With all due respect to the mods I do find that there is a lot of double standards applied here, some posters get away with everything and some barely say something out of line and they get banned right away. I'll probably get ban for saying this but I find this forum very cliquish.

 

Best way to moderate is to be fair with everyone and treat everyone the same. Also, since this is a Blue Jays forum, they should be a main team supporter, not someone that is cheering for another club imo.

I agree whoever gets the job needs to be able to look at everyone equally. I have no problem with the Rays fans we have here, they aren't obnoxious about it and contribute to the every day flow of the forum. Now Calrip is another story, although I'm slowly starting to go from being annoyed to being amused by the little pest.

I think most boards are cliquish. One of the issues this forum has is that 90% came from the bluejays.com board and those that caused trouble there were not going to be welcome here. So immediately we weren't going to be "fair" to all. We've banned probably 1000 accounts in total. Unfortunately, many of the mods we have just didn't have time for it anymore. We need more mods, and hopefully the anti-mod movement stops as well. Me leaving clears up your issue with mods not being a fan of the team.
