Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I hate basketball, what a stupid sport. Raise the nets by 5 feet, otherwise it's just shoving a ball in a net, wow, how f***ing hard is that when your over 7 feet tall? Totally, basketball would be WAY more exciting if you got rid of all those lame dunks!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 A lot of fans can trace their fandom back to a playoff run. For many it was 92-93. For older guys like me it was 1985. I was a baseball fan when I was a kid. For me it was the old Pirates teams with Willie Stargell and his stars that he gave players for making great plays. loved the flat top caps with the stars on them. Of course I was a Jays fan from the day it was announced that Toronto would get a team, but I still follow the bucs http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/multimedia/photo_gallery/0908/mlb.remember.when.baseball.uniforms/images/willie-stargell-civil-war-hat.jpg

Fell in love with them. 2 years later, I went to a game at 3 Rivers, my dad took me as I was at an Early Bird Hockey tourney in Pitt. Loved when Parker joined the Jays at the end of his career, just for nostalgia purposes. I kind of hated Madlock after he took Tony out during our playoff run when he was with the Tigers, bastard! *shakes fist*

FirstPitchStrike Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 As much as I hate that the casual's are making it hard to get affordable tickets, if nothing else they've proved that if Rogers builds it, they will come. The plus side is that if this continues this year then Rogers doesn't have a leg to stand on come the offseason complaining about upping the payroll to continue their winning ways. Lesson learned for me. I guess I'll be buying a flex pack next year.
Caper Verified Member Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 SBJ. Not sure if you answered this anywhere, but how did you become a ball fan living in Scotland?
strochez Verified Member Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Was just talking to my friend yesterday and he said he always wanted to follow baseball but just needed a team to cheer for. He would have cheered for Blue Jays except for the fact they never really competed into August and September. I never really followed the Raptors until after they traded for Rudy Gay and now I consider myself a Raptors and a basketball fan. Sure we will definitely have an influx of fans that don't know anyone in ALL OF BASEBALL except for Bautista, Donaldson, Price and Tulowitzki. But overall I'd much rather have a team that goes out and competes in October with the stands full of enthusiastic bandwagon fans then sit and watch the Yankees or Orioles "represent the AL East" in the playoffs.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 That's it..I'm done. f*** this team
scottishbluejay Verified Member Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 Your'e no bandwagon jumper Scottish BJ, Hope you cheer for the ROYAL BLUE back home also. What the team that died in shame? Absolutely not. Only racists and bigots support that vile now defunct team
scottishbluejay Verified Member Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 Does anyone know if jays are doing the promos such as "buy a season ticket for 2016 and get the option on post season this year?" Me and my buddy are going season ticket next year and wondered if we'd be in luck. I know raptors done this.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Bandwagon or not I find fanexhange is still great way to get tickets for decent prices. And they give you aeroplan points ...bonus https://aeroplan.fanxchange.com/toronto-blue-jays-tickets
scottishbluejay Verified Member Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 I'm on the phone to them now, routes through to ticketmaster which is useless

scottishbluejay Verified Member Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Sorry no I'm looking for regular seats also. But hoping to buy a season ticket for next season which I was hoping resulted in access to this seasons post season option. I looked at that website aeroplan and the prices are worse than stubhub and vividseats
