Yes, because umpires are terrible. The ball was low and outside. This is an argument for replacing umpires, not an argument for Smoak being bad.

 

 

The low outside corner is called far more often to lefties than righties, it's practically an auto strike and why they hardly ever argue it. It's like they've just had to come to accept it that umps are blind to their left.

I don't disagree though I don't see that happening at this level, at least not any time soon. I was just pointing out that it's pretty well known lefties have to be able to get to that outer corner because they get f***ed every game from it.
