That's an absolute double-standard and you know it. Anybody could use that cop-out to get away with essentially anything on this forum, outside of personally attacking somebody else. This forum has ostracized people for holding unpopular opinions ever since it went up. It happens every day, in nearly every thread.

 

"I hope the Rays beat the Jays and cost them a playoff spot" might be an opinion, but when it's voiced on a Blue Jays board, it absolutely is trolling. That would be seen as trolling on any fan site or message board that supports a sports team. You know that and I know you know that. You're purposely turning a blind eye to it to defend TheHurl, and I very strongly believe that you wouldn't be doing that if this same comment was made by an average board member.

 

Completely true. The old forum was much more diverse and active, and therefore more interesting. If it wasn't for a couple of idiot posters it might still be the #1 place.

I don't think that's really true. I would hope that the forum would welcome a Red Sox fan that contributed to discussion, but admitted once that 'you know, even if my team is out of it Id love to play spoiler to the jays down the stretch'. Not banworthy at all. Now, a sox fan that did nothing but s*** on jays players with every post is obviously a different story.

I'm so dumb when it comes to recognizing who these posters used to be. I just figured out that one like two days ago, and it was probably months before I knew that Deadpool used to be BTT. The worst was not seeing that RealAccountant is Dogg, but once I saw someone say it, everything made sense.
