vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Honestly, f*** off Colabello. Agreed. I'm at "bitch eating crackers" level of annoyed with this guy.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Wait, I thought BBBB was goimg to look after the GDT today...? He's too drunk. We told him 4 rums, but ended up having 40 rums.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 My amazing sub-GDTs are not the assists this forum deserves, but they are the assists this forum needs. #You'reWelcome. I'll get behind this idea for now but then what happens if we lose today?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Dickey hasn't pitched well on four days rest as far as I remember. Go Jays!
CrackerJack Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Smoak has huge holes in his swing, but at least he plays good D, colabello is terrible defensively. well, yeah, that's why Smoak's being used the way he is ... should start against most righties and come in late for defense. (at least so long as Cola continues to contribute with the stick...)
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Excuse my ignorance because it's probably been addressed, but why are we starting Dickey on short rest instead of Price on normal rest? I'd kind of like to have Price going as many times as possible.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Excuse my ignorance because it's probably been addressed, but why are we starting Dickey on short rest instead of Price on normal rest? I'd kind of like to have Price going as many times as possible. I recall reading that Price gets an additional start against the Yankees if they pitch him tomorrow instead of today. I agree though, every win matters. If we blow today's game because of Dickey on short rest, then it is still an L regardless of how many starts Price gets against the Yankees later. Can't afford any losses at this point.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 how does lineup look with travis back in it, travis 8 revere 9? It would probably be as good as the 1993 team overall. Insanely good. (Maybe better. Ryan Goins = Manny Lee)
flafson Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Smoak has huge holes in his swing, but at least he plays good D, colabello is terrible defensively. Smoak at 1B has +1.1 UZR and +1 DRS. Colabelo at 1B has -0.8 UZR and -4 DRS. So even though Smoak is better, it's not a huge difference. Colabelo is horrible in the outfield, not so much on first base.

I'd kind of like to have Price going as many times as possible. Price will ge getting 12 starts for the Jays (6 home and 6 away) regardless whether he pitches today or tomorrow. (13 starts if there's a WC game) By starting tomorrow, his turn will come up against the Yankees both this weekend and next weekend.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 I'll get behind this idea for now but then what happens if we lose today? It's scientifically impossible. I'm undefeated in GDT assists. I'm the John Stockton of GDTs. I've been dropping dimes. If I give you the perfect alley-oop and you f*** it up, it's on you (*cough* TRM). No pressure.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Should've made a GDT standings thread when the year began.
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Predicting Dickey gets absolutely rocked by these high contact smart KC bats Going to need more than 5 runs today
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Some news about our upcoming opponent--Tommy Milone has been DL'd with a flexor strain. Tyler Duffey will make his MLB debut Wed.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Some news about our upcoming opponent--Tommy Milone has been DL'd with a flexor strain. Tyler Duffey will make his MLB debut Wed. Good. He shut us down when we faced him in Oakland a year or two ago.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 How many rings does Stockton have? Nice. He did get to the finals on back to back seasons though, a lot of us would be happy with that.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 How many rings does Stockton have? You're the worst.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 we faced him in Oakland a year or two ago. Oh, you mean in a massive pitcher's park without Donaldson, Travis or Tulo in the lineup? What a stud, I'm sure glad we're not facing him now.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Why not hit Goins leadoff. Tulo there is a waste.

TRM Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 Relevant pitching matchups for today Jiminez v Norris Nova v Shark Kuma v Pelfrey Cory Rasmus v Latos Robbie Ray v McHugh Every game looks like advantage Jays or push except the Astros.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 KC against Dickey sounds like a bad matchup, they make contact and are smart hitters.

What a stud, I'm sure glad we're not facing him now. Interesting choice of rebuttal. I would have likely attacked the moronic nature of reference a one game sample size, but to each their own.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Good. He shut us down when we faced him in Oakland a year or two ago. 1 game sample size lol.

I think Dickey on short rest vs. the Royals might be too big a risk but I've always thought pretty conservatively about pitching routines. If Price is going to get an extra start against the Yankees then I guess I have no choice but to grudgingly like it. One thing I do like? The top of the batting order. Everyone gets their traditional speedy-guy-hitting-in-front-of-the-big-bats soother, except we just don't have to see it until the third inning or so. The first inning gets to be relentless, plus the benefit of getting Tulo the extra AB late in the game if the lineup flips over. Glad we've stopped pushing our best ABs down into the lineup.

Lol Cory Rasmus. If we win today we're only two back of the 1st WC, assuming Dodgers win. Please Norris. Kuma should beat Pelfrey. Nova/Shark is a toss up.
