It's a routine play for the first basemen, you're not gonna get perfect throws from the left side of your infield every time. He has to make that scoop, it wasn't even that hard.

Routine was a bad word to use, it was relatively soft though. A major league 1B should make that play 90% of the time, Cola looked lost on that pick.

Yeah he didn't look good. Gibby will back his choice of Colabello over Smoak based on Smoak being a career 1-12 with 6K's vs Gray.
