Fire gibbons

I don't know if this was sarcastic or not, but I think I've slowly slid off the Gibby bandwagon. This game is probably a win if Smoak starts in place of Colabello. Just so many terrible managerial decisions this year.

Need to get what we can from Bautista and Edwin...

I tend to agree but what kind of good young position players for teams in contention would be actual matches?

Good question...I'll take a look at it tomorrow. You all have a good day/night!

I know that Houston are looking for a right handed batter, so we might be able to ship EE to them for something reasonable.

This. I am starting to come off the wagon as well. The pen management is also questionable. Up by 5+ runs and he brings in Schultz, Osuna? Put in Tepra and Loup (vs righties) in a 2-1 game?

A good manager doesn't really cost team games and unfortunately I think Gibby has. I like the dude as well but his loyalties with certain players is costing the team.

The degenerate Toronto media will probably blame this loss on the bullpen. "The 'pen blow another one!"

Yup. I can just see it now. "The bullpen blues" or some s***

Can't believe I waste my life on a losing team.

This team could be 20 games above .500 and you'd still be bitching. You're the one that least deserves to complain.

On another note, f*** off Gibbons.

On yet another note, I can't believe we are wasting this offensive season, absolutely f***ing embarrassing.

Well said. On yet another note, screw the Jays for making me sleep only 2 hours. (Just woke up for work)

Saw the play.. not much you can do there. Davis did beat it out, barely. We really should've scored something the previous inning. But we probably weren't going to win last night anyway, due to Sonny Gray pitching.. we were lucky to keep it so close!

And these doom-and-gloomers who want to sell.. be quiet! We're only 3 games back of a wild card to a Twins team that will likely collapse to or under .500 very soon, as the team is regressing hard.. they've been below .500 since their 20-7 May. And Detroit is in the EXACT same boat as we are.. except they would be wiser to sell because of all those bad contracts. Tampa has no money to make additions, and Baltimore is below .500 and faces gutting in free agency. We're still better positioned than other teams, if we add pitching. At this point, the Yanks are almost certain to run with the East due to a weak schedule, so we should focus on catching Houston and Minnesota. And regarding Houston, their recent run has been schedule related.. Boston and Texas aren't contending.

I fell asleep during game. Major bummer we lost this one when we still had a chance despite a bad pitching matchup. It doesn't get any easier the next couple days. Kazmir and Felix Hernandez up next. :( Edited by G-Snarls

Maybe Kazmir will get traded to us before the game?

Has there ever been a case where a starter is scheduled to start only to switch dugouts and pitch for the other team?

Not sure if it was scheduled but Jon Garland was one. Many times a hitter was involved. The last one to come to mind was Delabar-Thames.

Dunno

It happened with a reliever. Rincon. A's.

The opportunity was to win it in the 9th. They needed to push across more runs with the bases loaded especially with their 2-3-4 hitters up. Disgusting. I knew after the Jays tying it up at 3-3 that they'd lose.

Not sure what we'll get against Kazmir.. this is the first decent offensive team he's faced in a while (when he hasn't left due to injury.. he would've likely been lit up by the Yankees had he not left after 3 IP in a recent start.) Seattle and Minnesota aren't exactly offensive powerhouse, or even contenders. Don't be fooled by recent performances.. he has faced a number of offensively challenged teams recently.

Whether King Felix wins will depend if the Mariners offense shows up..

Kazmir traded to Astros. Basically going to be a bullpen start. :)

I'd pin this loss on eddie. I think he left like 5 RISP this game

Absolutely,it happens too often with him, selfish swinging away the way he does.

Donaldson didn't help the cause much either,on this occasion.:(
