Fun facts: Jays BP tied with the 3rd best SIERA in MLB - 3.02. 4th best in xFIP- 89.

Aaron Sanchez probably won't help but who knows...it's better then him starting.

I noticed this as well and keep waiting for better results that never seems to come.

Doesn't mean much if we keep slinging out s*** like Tepera and Francis(earlier in the year) in high leverage situations

Bingo. Pen isn't bad, the man handling it is.

High leverage doesn't have to be 9th inning 1 run games or runners in scoring position in the 8th. I'd trust Sanchez a lot more than Aaron Loup facing 2 right handed bats in a row in the 7th inning of a 1 run game, aka Saturday.

Loup is having a career year.

Career year all right the worst of his career. His whip is at a career high. He has already hit 4 batters and only hit 6 in the entire year last year. And he's 0-4 in save opportunities. And those are just some highlights of his "career year". He and Reyes should go back to T ball

Maybe don't look at whip and era.

Loup is better than this.. his FIP is 3.53, showing he's had bad luck. He's cut his walk rate and increased his K rate this year. Despite his performance, I wouldn't give up on him. As for Reyes.. the D is the only real issue. Can't really take him out of the lineup.

Reyes has had baserunning issues as well. His hitting has been ok

Loup is having a pretty amazing year:

10.06 K/9

1.32 BB/9

53.1% GB rate

Sucks that he's been terrible in high leverage situations. Can't blame the manager for not having confidence in him when he does put him in there he keeps giving up the lead.

Loup is f***ing legit. He touches 96 from the left side, gets groundballs 56% of the time, has good control, and gets 22% whiffs on his change up. He can eat up lefties with just the fastball and mediocre slider, and the change up gives him a weapon that makes him viable against righties too (although they've still hit him fairly well... needs to change his approach maybe).

He is already very good and he might have the tools to be a sneaky elite RP

They keep using him vs RH batters in those situations...I thought that's what Ryan Tepera was for.

Agree. Not much luck for Loup. We are lucky to have him and Cecil as LH arms in pen. I hope it breaks his way 2nd half, but I don't understand Gibby keeping him in high leverage against RHH.

Seriously wonder if he ever looks at or even considers these numbers.

Agree on Loup....agree on Reyes except his BB rate and overall numbers on O haven't been what we would like to see either. Still have to keep running him out there because we know what he is capable of.
