You work your way up - what's the harm with firing Gibby?

The more pertinent question is: What's the gain?

I don't know, but I'd rather start small then wind up with a Ricciardi like GM again.

A manager who uses his best relievers in the most important spots, and his worst relievers in the least important spots, would make a difference.

A manager who doesn't play a DH in the outfield when the rotation is filled with flyball pitchers (other than Sanchez) would make a difference.

Not many managers, if any actually, do all the right things. Some do certain things right, but get others wrong.

I am critical of Gibbons, especially this weekend's bullpen usage and putting Colabello in LF instead of at DH, but if you really want to impact the team, you start with the team prez.

On the other hand, if there's a worse team prez than Beeston out there, Ed Rogers is more likely to hire him than other owners.

Anyway, we'll see what happens...

I think this is a very rational post.

Umm, this is awkward, no one had ever accused me of being rational before...I guess there IS always a first.

Today I saw Gibbons pick his nose and actually eat the booger. What kind of sick f*** does that? Is he aware he's setting an example for all these guys?

Didn't take him long to get hungry, he was tossed in the second inning

Gibbons is the s***... liking his "f*** it" attitude this year (despite a few derp moves).

Hey man WTF! My son does that on a fairly regular basis. He is two and a half though....I find this thread interesting.

This thread doesn't get bumped anymore. I guess the "fire Gibby" warriors are easily placated with a winning streak? Maybe Gibby isn't that bad?

And not to go on, but watching Farrell and his stupid face when he makes dumb decisions (like challenging an unwinnable play) makes me super glad he went to Boston. Yet he won a WS despite being a total moron.

The Jays have not been in many close games recently. Gibbons hasn't had much opportunity to blow games.

4-4 in the 7th right now? This thread will have activity soon enough.

You're definitely in the running for "the absolute worst".

Thank you.

People seem to think I'm rooting for Gibbons to fail. All I'm saying is bad managers hurt teams. Whether it's Farrell, Gibbons, whoever. If you make bad decisions, it hurts the team. Gibbons makes a lot of them. If the Jays can win in spite of Gibbons, I'll be thrilled.

Gibbons doesn't overreact to Hendriks getting BABIP'd (a lot of other managers probably do) and he proceeds to record back to back filthy strikeouts.

Come on man, when something good happens, it's despite Gibbons' idiocy, and when something bad happens it's all Gibbons' fault. Get with the program!
