In fairness, they'd have to overpay by a not insignificant amount to sign any top FA.

 

This is one of the reasons why it's important that they develop their own talent.

Jays are a below average team away from the RC. They are now the Rockies of the AL (although the Yankees are worse with a 130wRC at home and 89 on the road...Jays are 129 - 99)

You are all misunderstanding me. Given the flaws on this team that are obvious to everyone (even AA) at this point, it's truly astounding to me that we are still legitimate contenders to make the post-season.

 

I'm not saying this team has the overall quality to win even a wild card game however.

Team was always built around offense though, so it's no surprise. Last year, they got better pitching.

 

 

Last year was less extreme and Stroman and Happ helped.

Camping in mtns and made mistake of checking score on RA start. I thought his option for 1 more year was a no brainer for 200 ish semi quality IP. But unless he turns it around, which I doubt, I'd rather watch a young cheap arm, with a chance of developing upside, give up runs than blow $12mm on RA. Frustrating to watch.
