Donaldson probably be asked to be part of the HRD. not sure I want him to... hate the risks.

 

I think it's been discussed ad nauseam that taking a few swings extra in what is simply a televised batting practice has no real implication on the player's health.

trying to hit a HR and trying to hit the ball hard are not the same. In BP the objective isn't to launch 20 balls as far as you can in 5 minutes.

 

there is no proof either way. just speculation for both camps.

Much better. Still need voters to get Altuve to the ASG.. he deserves to be there, not Infante.

 

Nick Castellanos third at 3B.. he's struggling to even stay on the MLB roster (he has options remaining).

None will be in the home run contest swinging (It's based on the leaderboard this year) and last I checked, sitting around at a ball park watching baseball is a pretty relaxing thing. You don't need to worry.

I thought it was known that the last round of BP is usually just a HR Derby? Also, BP usually goes by pretty quickly, unless you're specifically working on a certain aspect (driving the ball the other way for example), sure the goal isn't necessarily to hit a bunch of homers but I'm sure it happens all the time. From what I've heard Giancarlo Stanton puts on a show at batting practice.

False. 30 swings of trying to hit the ball as far as you can offsets everything you've done to that point in perfecting your swing and timing

I miss him already... losing him has really put my fantasy team in a bit of a mess. lol He was carrying me for a month.

 

I've read that Suzuki puts on a huge show when he takes BP. he's completely not that guy during a game, but it's been reported in several articles that he has ridiculous power.

 

Final round is what, 10 swings?

 

I love watching the HRD. It would be cool to see Donaldson hit a shitload of monster bombs. doesn't make me less nervous. He's one of the guys we cannot afford to have sidelined.

some people who are voting for Donaldson are just taking him along for the ride. the same way Royals fans are stuffing the ballots for their players. That's why Ed and Jose are in the running as well. Neither deserve to be there. Russel Martin does.

That's a bunch of Japanese propaganda. Ichiro does not have prodigious power.

 

Many players just try to hit the crap out of the ball during BP.

Jose is 4th among AL outfielders in WAR and he has a much better track record than Lorenzo Cain. He deserves to be there.
