Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 There's a chance that trio wouldn't hit a combined 30 homers next year. And? Homers are everything? Have you looked at Kipnis' offensive stats? Pompey has doubles/triples power for days
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Any word on if the Jays are skipping Hutchison? I'm going to the game Saturday and would rather see Price pitch. I see no reason why they would, especially with Buerhle aching a bit.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I see no reason why they would, especially with Buerhle aching a bit. Will they skip Buehrle? I think you want to use Price on 5 days rest once so he pitches September 21st vs NYY, if I am correct.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Jose was terrible at 1B last year. I remember him dropping 2 routine balls thrown to 1B. One he literally just missed the catch. People forget how great his bat is it seems. The guy has been legitimately one of the best hitters in the word for the last 6 years and still is producing on an elite level.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 LF - Pillar CF - Pompey RF - Revere and how would this alignment rank for best defensive outfield in the AL / MLB??? 1st and DH would be split between Bats and Edwing NO.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Is Trouba the worst legitimate poster? I think the admin is?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 That wouldn't be a bad outfield. Not great but 3 plus defenders can go a long way
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 And it would be a great OF in terms of overall range and speed so it's not like it would be worthless. It would provide some value, it would do so unconventionally but it woudln't be overwhelmingly positive value but not negative either. I can understand being againd the idea but the level of hate it's getting seems pretty over the top. I don't 'hate' it... But I think we can do quite a bit better.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Is Trouba the worst legitimate poster? Depends. What makes him legit?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I think the admin is? My reaction when I thought you thought I was the worst legitimate poster but doesn't turn out to be true: http://i.imgur.com/7C2GfIF.gif
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 If Pompey can hit and run like he was recently in the minors then it's a no brainer, you move Bautista to first. I really don't love Bautista anywhere right now. Always having either Encarnacion or Bautista at first might not turn out so great either. Since both Eddie and Bautista are only under control for one more year, I probably would just keep them where they are and grit my teeth about their fielding (which would be very little from Eddie anyways). If one of them gets exended (presumably Bautista) then you have to consider a more long term plan.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I don't 'hate' it... But I think we can do quite a bit better. I'd honestly prefer to see an OF of Revere/Pillar (LF/4th OF in a platoon) with Pompey in CF and Saunders in RF if he's healthy and Bautista moved to 1B. I really like what Pillar has done this year but I still think Pompey's complete package is a much better option going forward in 2016.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Why is this a discussion?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Why is this a discussion? Because BLUE JAYS message board.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Because BLUE JAYS message board. This season? OP is retarded enough to ring up this season? It's an off-season discussion.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 This season? This is just one topic amongst many.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 This is just one topic amongst many. Without a back-bone, sorry.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Without a back-bone, sorry. Meh. How many topics get discussed here that never come close to fruition? How many trade scenarios and hypthetical lineups and callups? Seems kind of silly to be a wet blanket.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Wouldn't Revere in LF, Pillar in CF and Pompey in RF make more sense? I think we'd need another starter and one of those guys could become the 4th OF. I'm not really sold on Pompey anyway as I'm not sure he'll hit enough.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Oh look it's another forum police wannabe, where is the damn rule we cannot speculate about things for the 2016 season? There are many topics about this already. There is nothing wrong with this discussion on a "DISCUSSION" board. It's a heck of a lot better then whining about a topic you don;t like. Stay out of it if you don;t like it, not hard.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Good stro article on his recovery, how he has been able to return so quickly and the sports bra http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-mlb-toronto-blue-jays-marcus-stroman-acl-recovery/?ex_cid=story-twitter

I would let that determine who goes in right.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hey guys what about that Saunders guy?
Rafters Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Devo Travis could be in the outfield next year if Goins keeps this up.....would like to get Brantley from Cleveland somehow
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) Hey guys what about that Saunders guy? We really don't know if he can be a productive Major League player anymore. Edited September 2, 2015 by KingKat
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 He's a beast. Hope he's a Blue Jay for life.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Estrada continues to make quality starts. Do we let him go? Offer him a QO? Offer him a 3-year, $30M deal?
ColdPint Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Speaking of Stro - he has his first rehab start in Lansing today. If all goes well he'll make a start in Buffalo on the 7th and then will rejoin the Jays. Not to get ahead of things but I can't wait to hear the reception he gets during his first home appearance.
JoJo Parker Dunedin Blue Jays - A SS On Tuesday, Parker was just 1-for-5, but the one hit was his first professional home run. Explore JoJo Parker News >
