Call me crazy, but if Buehrle is struggling down the stretch, I wouldn't mind seeing Estrada starting in the playoffs. Besides Price he's been our most consistent guy lately.

Sure his advanced stats aren't the best, but he has been solid. In his last 13 starts he's given up 3 or more runs twice.

He seems to be pretty reliable regardless. Normally Estrada has really good control and has a very good changeup to help keep guys off balance. At this point I think you consider him as a starter in the playoffs. He's less prone to blowing up than the other options.

LF - Pillar

CF - Pompey

RF - Revere

and how would this alignment rank for best defensive outfield in the AL / MLB???

1st and DH would be split between Bats and Edwing

I don't want to see him in the playoffs tbh. He's shown that he's still prone to the HR and he's just been really lucky a lot of them are solo shots. I think playoff rotation should be Price Stroman Dickey Hutch if we get to line it all up. If Buehrle starts to pitch well then have him start instead of Hutch.

Ewwwwww. Jose should move from RF sooner rather than later, but none of the above have the arm for RF (especially Revere, he has the worst arm in baseball). Unless it's an FA (Cespedes) or some sort of AA wizard ninja trade, anyone other than Jose mans RF full time.

Will we see a line up this year ever of Revere-Pillar-Pompey in OF and Bautista at 1B with Edwin DHing?

I cant remember if Jose was terrible at 1B or not. Has to be > than Cola and Edwin and < Smoak I would guess?

At the very least, I would flip Pillar and Revere in this alignement. Revere is a LF (and a CF in a desperate emergency). He's not a RF in any scenario.

Revere should be in the lineup every single day the way he hits. Most of our power comes from our infield anyway...JD, Tulo, EE, and Bautista if he moved to 1B. Traditionally you don't get that kind of power and production from those positions so it makes up for less of it from the OF.

Jays record after 132 games....

1992: 75-57

1993: 75-57

2015: 75-57

How good were they in 85? Franchise best 82-50 after 132.

In 1987 they were 78-54.

The forgotten 1984 team, buried by the Tigers who started the year 35-5 also had 75 wins through 132 games.

Post 93 the best record through 132 games was 69-63, achieved 4 times: 1999, 2000, 2006 and 2010. That would make us the Texas Rangers of this year, in the hunt for the second wild card but a fringe contender at best.

And the infield could hit a crap ton. Would be the same overall

And it would be a great OF in terms of overall range and speed so it's not like it would be worthless. It would provide some value, it would do so unconventionally and it woudn't be overwhelmingly positive value but not negative either. I can understand being against the idea but the level of hate it's getting seems pretty over the top.

Also important to note that those two WS teams brought it down the stretch. 92 team went 21-9 and the 93 team went 20-10.

I think we'll finish up 20 and 10 as well. Something like 10 and 3 at home and 10 and 7 on the road.

If Pompey can hit and run like he was recently in the minors then it's a no brainer, you move Bautista to first.
