Right but we don't have enough major league innings to say he's this guy going forward. He could go back to being a 1.0 war guy. All I know is Pompey better be given a fair shot or trade him

 

Big Pompey supporter here, but this is very simplistic and short-sighted. Pompey/Pillar/Revere/Saunders/Bautista could work even if Pompey isn't a full-time starter right away. His being a switch-hitter works in his favour.

 

The thing that does concern me with Pompey is whether the coaches have sent "bad attitude" reports (whatever this means) to the F/O. I say this because I have no clue why they'd prefer Carrera over Pompey as the 4th OF although they could still make the switch before Aug 31st.

 

Also, I've said in the past I could see the Jays trading Pillar for a pitcher during the offseason.

Had a trip planned to Boston next week with the girlfriend that we were going to see the Tuesday and Wednesday game before heading to Cape Cod. She breaks up over text tonight. So rattled I don't get to see the Jays in fenway

While I was watching the Yankees at Atlanta Braves game last night, the commentator stated that he just saw a fan fall from the upper tier at Turner Field. The commentator stated that he felt that the game would be ended, however, surprisingly the game continued on as if nothing had happened, although paramedics attended to the mortally injured fan - http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/fan-falls-upper-deck-yankees-braves-game-article-1.2341840 (caution, gory details are in this story).

 

The Rogers Centre seems to be a place where such an incident is just waiting to happen with its high 500 level and steep tier. Do any stadiums employ netting under high tier levels to catch falling fans? There have been so many incidences of fans falling to their death that I wonder why more isn't done to design stadiums for fan safety?
