LTR Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Hate facing that guy. Sale is filthy. Lets hope Valencia and Smoak (from right side) are in the line up. Not Smoak, he can't hit lefties (career 85 wRC+) and he's not going to do anything vs. Sale. Gotta put Navarro in vs lefties (or maybe Colabello but I like Navarro better in this situation, less K%)... career 106 wRC+ We have an amazing line-up vs lefties but still might do nothing vs Sale.... Reyes (S) Donaldson ® Bautista ® Edwin ® Martin ® Valencia ® Navarro (S) Travis ® Pillar ®
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Hopefully we break that +10k streak.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Hopefully we break that +10k streak. Looks promising, only the Royals strike-out less vs. lefties (and we have way more power!).
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Let's see if good pitching beats good hitting. Picked up MB in a weekly league to have some fun. I have faith.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Looks promising, only the Royals strike-out less vs. lefties (and we have way more power!). Just gotta keep Italian dude out of the line up

LTR Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Just gotta keep Italian dude out of the line up Well... yeah... but no.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Martin's gotta be in... or else what the f***. It's a night game after a day game and since Martin is old, and traveling from Detroit to Chicago likely caused him tremendous discomfort, it makes sense to start Navarro. / Gibby Logic
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Smoak has a career 116 wrc+ vs lhp away from Safeco.
CrackerJack Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 What exactly would be the point of AA holding on to the prospects. If any of them do end up becoming significant players it won't be under AA as GM. yeah, but it might be under AA as President.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Smoak has a career 116 wrc+ vs lhp away from Safeco. wRC+ adjusts for park
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Why does Colabello have to hit 5th
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 yeah, but it might be under AA as President. Lol laughable
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Why does Colabello have to hit 5th Dat avridge

CrackerJack Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Lol laughable we'll see how the 2nd half plays out ... Alex could be gone ... or could remain the GM ... or could be promoted to Prez (not likely, but possible.)
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Why does Colabello have to hit 5th Bello starting to strike out more as well as his crummy defense coming to the forefront.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Interesting... Just a couple of weeks ago you were saying things like... So how is it that such a great team is suddenly unlikely to overcome a 2 game deficit?? Defending AA and the team he has put together for 2015 has nothing to do with expressing the opinion that overpaying mid season for pitching help using prospects is the wrong approach. I appreciate the attention you give me as a sign of respect, but you will have to do better to find contradictions in my posts.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 11/19/12 Toronto Blue Jays signed free agent LF Melky Cabrera. 11/19/12 Miami Marlins traded 2B Emilio Bonifacio, C John Buck, LHP Mark Buehrle, RHP Josh Johnson and SS Jose Reyes to Toronto Blue Jays for RHP Henderson Alvarez, SS Yunel Escobar, SS Adeiny Hechavarria, C Jeff Mathis, RHP Anthony DeSclafani, CF Jake Marisnick and LHP Justin Nicolino. 11/03/12 Cleveland Indians traded RHP Esmil Rogers to Toronto Blue Jays for LF Mike Aviles and C Yan Gomes. 12/17/12 New York Mets traded C Josh Thole, C Mike Nickeas and RHP R.A. Dickey to Toronto Blue Jays for C John Buck, RHP Noah Syndergaard, C Travis d'Arnaud and OF Wuilmer Becerra. So far, the trade has been mixed. Escobar got traded to Tampa (and really sucked last year.. and got traded to Washington, and was moved to 3B likely due to his poor SS defense in Tampa.), Hechavarria hasn't been that great, DeSclafani was stupidly traded to a bad Cincy team for Mat Latos, a horrible trade for the Marlins, Nicolino is still a question mark, and Marisinick is now in Houston and struggling to keep a starting spot. Shoulda kept Yan Gomes and Aviles.. that trade was bad. But the Indians are still going nowhere as that team has been as poorly managed(in position players) as the fans feel AA does with the Jays. No team should be making stupid deals for guys like Bourn and Swisher, who are crippling the team. The Mets trade.. that was bad, I agree. But jury's still out on Syndergaard.. and he could still be dealt again for offense, as the Mets currently are under pressure to make the playoffs.. OR ELSE Terry Collins will be gone, and Sandy Alderson(along with JP Riccardi) will be gone as well. And the Mets also have Kevin Plawecki as well.. who are the Mets going to build their catching around, especially if d'Arnaud can't stay healthy? I mean, they were supposed to be the best team in the NL East by now.. but they can't hit a beach ball!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 ^ Maybe instead of pointing out the flaws in other teams you can take a break and look at the jays objectively.

Reyes fWAR 1.1 Hech fWAR 2.1 Cost not comparable and the best looks like its yet to come with Hech while with Reyes....well that's obvious.

And will likely get dealt to a big market team when he gets expensive.. this is Jeffrey Loria we're talking about. And FYI, Loria is wasting his and Stanton's prime.. they frigging sent Marcell Ozuna to AAA yesterday! WTF is he doing? Not to mention how poorly run that Marlins team is.. they traded Eovaldi and DeSclafani, who would be great in the Marlins rotation right now... And no comments about their 1997 and 2003 WS.. the teams have been blown up afterward because ownership, including Loria, have refused to spend money to keep a roster together.. remember the Miguel Cabrera trade? That makes the Dickey trade look genius in comparison.. Tigers basically robbed the Marlins there.
