@Wilnerness590: Reports that #Bluejays are set to call up Phil Coke are true. Joins #Jays Friday. Among other things, David Ortiz is 2/21 vs. Coke.

Why do you have that very angry f***er's comment calling me full retard for actually cheering for the Jays (cyber style albeit) when we came back in that 7-6 game on your sig line?

Cause in calling you full retard, he went extra-full retard and I luv it

The "Goins will be an MLB player in 10 years, mark my words" one was getting a little old.

Coke better not be coming up in place of an infielder. Gibbons only uses 3 or 4 relievers as it is. He doesn't need more.

Coke isn't even a good loggy, and RHB have murdered him pretty much his entire career over a decent sample.

Why he is on our team is unknown..

You guys are underrating Coke.

I'm high on Coke.

It's worth having him in the pen for the jokes alone.

But I'm not laughing...

Lol @ Wilner pointing out Ortiz stats, seriously I love Ortiz but he is done. OPS less than .700. Its a testament to him how long he has been able to stay in the league, but its time for him to exit gracefully.

As for Phil coke, I assume copeland is back on his way down, so does it really matter. Hopefully just there to mopup

I've always been more of a Pepsi fan myself.

People thought he was done in 2010 after a rough first 2 months. There was a big debate then about resigning him for 2011. Then he took off and ending up with a .900 OPS.

This time may actually be the end, but if he is willing to hang on like Giambi did and take less dough he is still a nice piece to have.

Doesn't sound like he is ready to go there yet though.

A wrist injury really sapped Ortiz of his power back then. Made him seem worse than he actually was. Not sure if there's an explanation like that this time around other than either age related decline or merely a prolonged slump.

Yes, hard to say. @ $16mm he isn't cheap for a DH who can only hit RHP. His production is Pillar like so far. Another couple months will tell the tale.

I actually like Farrel's move. Too much entitlement on rosters and Ortiz wasn't getting it done through 220 PAs.

I remember when we released the Big Hurt one season 65 ABs in and he was making what we now pay Edwin then. Good ol JPR.
