Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Amazeballs! But he prob sucks from no physical activity until now. Did someone suffer an account-deleting meltdown recently?
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 My suffering is none of your business sir! But you are always welcome to taste my pork sword. Sounds like something the Dogg would say, and has probably made someone done... while he tied them up in his basement.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Sounds like something the Dogg would say, and has probably made someone done... while he tied them up in his basement. Dogg could not turn phrase like that. HOWEVER, this has all the trademarks of an account that is totally going places!

Lol I swear I looked elsewhere first but I couldn't really find anything since Blair only made a vague reference on his Twitter and actually spilled the goods on air.

Umm you are important now, you are supposed to blame your assistant. Pretty much most people had the same thought when Soriano left Boras and said he wants to play this year, this isn't the Jays interested as Blair, and millions others thinking, Jays should be interested.

Ha! I wish I was important. But yeah I think you're right, it's probably more spitballing than anything concrete.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Doesn't hurt to look at him. His second half last year was terrible but maybe the extra rest and getting himself into better shape will help him. Yeah it all depends on how much he wants. But if he's cheap you could put him in a late inning role along with Cecil, Loup and Osuna. Drop the rest of the bunch down in the pecking order and then option Tepera.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Would be better than trading an Norris for a closer.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Would be better than trading an Norris for a closer. Amen. Norris is walking guys like crazy in Buff but I still think he will be a mid rotation guy. Cecil has really come on since hurt in Spring. His last appearance he touched 95 and had good command of his curve. He will be ok.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Soriano at closer means Cecil would actually get meaningful innings. That alone would be an upgrade.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Soriano at closer means Cecil would actually get meaningful innings. That alone would be an upgrade. Cecil will get his high leverage opps if we can get on a roll. Reyes is hitting better. Jose is back in RF. If Edwin gets healthy with Smoak @ 1st and Travis at 2nd Im feeling a lot better about this team.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Did someone suffer an account-deleting meltdown recently? I only have 2 names currently on my IL and this name is not there so it most probably belongs to one of them (another multiple account user).

pickoff22 Verified Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Very curious to see what sort of contract he gets. Would have to think it's around 2.5 million for the rest of the season (As in roughly a 4 million contract prorated)
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Do any players ever sue their past agent for not getting them a deal? Boras' scumbag level is at a remarkable height.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Do any players ever sue their past agent for not getting them a deal? Boras' scumbag level is at a remarkable height. It works for Boras most of the time because his players are usually the top of the league. None is going to overpay like he expects if the player is not elite.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Do any players ever sue their past agent for not getting them a deal? Boras' scumbag level is at a remarkable height. I'd love to see that lawsuit. Boras is very open about how he wants to get his clients a certain price and they should be open to sitting out seasons. Boras bait gets me every time...even after he's off my avatar.

Show me the best offer you've received and lets make a deal. If he refuses because he wants to make more money for himself, his client is potentially losing millions in lost wages because of his ignorance & greed. Is that not lawsuit worthy?

It is but why do you think it happens this way? An agent gets probably around 10%? If you make 5mil or 6mil it doesn't give him much extra. If it does happen like that, it's probably more about making precedences for the future where they will say, Scherzer got 270M, then of course someone like Price will get 300M. IMO it should be closer to the real estate market where it's mostly about quick turnaround and not waiting months for getting 10k more.

Boras can pay him with the percentage of the deferred payments he gets from now until 2024 (I think it's $2M a year). That contract he got after Boras put an out clause in his previous contract which earned him an extra $12M over the next two years. Good luck on that suit.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Even if Cecil turns out to be a fine closer the team needs another high leverage arm or two. If all it takes to bring in another potentially good arm is money and no specs (and Rogers signs off on it) then giddy up. As long as there isn't much term. Fair. Agree. We needed that to begin the season...but ill take it now too. This pen is coming around but its still given me too many Co-Co Cordero flashbacks this year.

JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Give us one top of the rotation SP and one good lefty BP arm and this team is poised to make a playoff run. Our lineup is so f***ing good, even with an influx of injuries. Navarro, Valencia, Collabello are some great bats to have off the bench too.
