LTR Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I have the Jays with the second worst win% of any team tonight. 0.36% chance.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Um.. No, they haven't. The pitching has been terrible as a whole and the offence has been shut down at some critical times. The run differential numbers are skewed by the fact that they've been able to run up the score some games when going up against weaker arms but usually come up flat against good pitchers. It's pretty clear at this point that you haven't watched many games and are just reaching for reasons as to why they've underachieved. The fact is however that they're just not a very good team right now. I've watched plenty of games, almost all of them. And that doesn't mean anything anyway, neither you nor I are trained scouts so forgive me if I don't trust the things you say based upon the games you have been watching. Back up what you say with numbers and I'd change my mind. Although given that we don't agree on the theories surrounding run differential and one-run games it's not likely we are going to agree on this. Cheers.

If you've watched almost every game this year and still think that they've done pretty well, then I guess we aren't going to be agreeing on much. The pitching has consistently been one of if not the worst staff in all of majors and the offence, although elite in terms of the overall runs scored, have scored the majority of their runs in bunches and hasn't been very consistent overall. The weak division might give every team a chance at the playoffs but unless some significant improvements are made, this team isn't going anywhere the way it's constructed right now.
