mcquaid9519 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hey guys, Just a quick question regarding tickets. If I were to buy a ticket for somewhere in the 100 level, say down the first base line in the outfield. Is there anything stopping me from moving down lower to the field and closer to the plate if there's nobody in those seats? From PEI and have never been to a game, but looking forward to going to one in August. Thanks

If you're going to a weekday game and it's fairly empty you won't have a problem moving up rows in your section. Not so much on a weekend.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 If you try this before the game starts you may have trouble moving down, but if you do this say, after the 3rd inning, and pretend to play the part (have some food that you ordered with you), you can sneak in.

I think he's saying move lower in the same section. Having two beers and a hot dog in your hand so you can't show your ticket wouldn't be necessary in this case.

I wouldn't advise for weekend games since they get quite busy and those seats closer to the field are usually already filled. On a weeknight, I'd move down though in the 3rd or 4th inning since by then most people should have already arrived at the games. When you move down, do it when you went out to grab a drink or snack since then when you enter the section it looks more the part rather than getting up from your seats mid inning and then just moving down. You shouldn't have a problem, since the usher remembers checking your tickets at the beginning of the game for the section, he or she doesn't likely remember which exact row you are in. It would be difficult to switch sections however mid game, since ushers would likely spot you and then ask to see your ticket.
CrackerJack Verified Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 don't know about other sections, but where I sit (low row behind the plate) the ushers know (or at least recognize) the regular attendees and ask all unfamiliar faces headed for prime seats for their tickets.
