TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Please please tell me that Gibbons really did use a 33 PA split size to pitch a lefty against Abreu. He had a 201 wRC against LHP last year
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 That Reyes at bat just friggin brutal cost us the chance and the game, ffs! I don't mind swinging at strike but that pitch was so friggin off the plate, just why? If he is smiling or grinning in the dug out too, I hope Someone decks him!

Governator Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 That was the most pathetic drive of the game of all time.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 he did I guess he doensn't mosy on water after all.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 he did I think that was Buck and Tabby's take...I'd hope that Gibbons was just thinking more what happened. Anything but an Abreu HR is not a problem.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 it would be nice if the stars could align for a couple weeks. the Pitching shows up and we dont hit, the hitting shows up and the pitching sucks, the pitching and hitting show up and the Defense doesn't show up.... or none of them come and it's a really bad game. the potential is there.... need all 3 to show up for a couple weeks and the Jays could be in first.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I love watching Cabrera run after balls. It's just entertaining.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I dropped Colabello yesterday for Carson Smith
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 It just feels good seeing average or better pitching for a stretch longer than 1 game. Dickey doesn't count, because f*** Dickey.

At this point you need to reset you expectations for Dickey. Think of him as a #4 or #5 and he's pretty good.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Dickey has regressed to the mean

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I wonder what % of Pillar's plate appearances have started off 0-2.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 f***ING PILLAR COME ON GOIIIINS Cf
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 my dislike for Pillar is increasing.... what an ugly swing he has.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 At this point you need to reset you expectations for Dickey. Think of him as a #4 or #5 and he's pretty good. He's just so inconsistent. It's either lights out or batting practice. JA Happ would be a nice replacement.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Interesting to look up the off-season trade dominoes and how the team shuffled around its depth. 2B is a hole so Gose becomes Travis but that exarcebates the lack of OF depth. Happ became Saunders which should have addressed the OF issue and Lind became Estrada which partially addressed the lost pitching depth from that and the Donaldson trade. Smoak, more or less, replaced Lind and since Injured/older players (and Navarro for whatever reason) need DH starts, going cheap there seems pretty smart in hindsight. Pretty good offseason that could have been downright great with a bit more payroll commitment.
