jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Well, we won.. at least the bullpen will be nice and fresh for the Mariners series, with Dickey going all the way.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 first complete game of the year....
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Good game from Dickey...need more of that from him
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 first complete game of the year.... Pen is rested, especially Osuna and Cecil. Good news going into the next series vs the Mariners.

Macsattack Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Dickey doing exactly what we need from him chewing up innings big time and letting our offense do what it does best!
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 it still seems the offense needs to score 5+ every game to have a chance. If it makes you feel better 8 of the 15 teams in the AL have a > 4 ERA meaning more than half the league needs to score 5+ every game to win.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 suck it Dickey haterz SSS but a good game
LTR Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 suck it Dickey haterz Three quality starts in a row but vs. the worst hitting team in the AL... I'm going to go ahead and temper my excitement. Also, Dickey still giving up the long ball.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 That was a big win. RA being RA chewing up innings and putting up mediocre but improved numbers and E-Rex crushing one. Solid contributions from the Toronto Blue Bisons at the bottom of the order. Really looking forward to seeing Reyes, Martin and Travis back in the line up. Nice job!

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Eye Test Warning: Has Eddy looked a little worse at the plate this year? He has struck out more this year than previous years, currently at 20.7% K. He admits he is swinging at too many pitches off the plate, and with 2 strikes he is constantly getting pitched there. He used to do this all the time as "E-5". Since then he seems to periodically do this in a slump until he lays off...gets hot when they have to come in...and he goes on a rampage.

LTR Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Seattle and Chicago, who are next, are as bad or worse hitting. Chicago is, Seattle isn't, they are just hitting below projections (but then again so are the Angels). But the Blue Jays are especially bad vs. good pitching... both the Mariners and White Sox (Samardzija, Quintana, Sale) have some good starters, if we're facing those guys.... not sure how things line-up with the White Sox but I don't like our chances vs. Hernandez and Walker. White Sox also have Danks and Noesi, who will get crushed by our offense. Edit: Looks like Noesi has been delegated to the BP.

I was going to mention this very thing, but decided not to while watching the ballgame, thanks.

Projected matchups are: Seattle: Hernandez, Paxton, Walker Chicago: Danks, Rodon, Samardzija And BTW, Samardzija has been terrible this season. We beat Hernandez last time.. and Paxton's FIP numbers signal regression coming.. especially considering his control issues. And Walker.. on a better club, he would've been sent to AAA right now. He has no place on a MLB roster right now.

Maybe 2 or 3 vs. White Sox. I predict a split between the two series.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I found his post game encouraging, he spoke of mechanics in 12' and they worked well, and he prompts Walker in finding one little, but subtle mechanic.

bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 No Donaldson today. Weird time for a rest day. He must not hit Felix well, but still
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 No Donaldson today. Weird time for a rest day. He must not hit Felix well, but still Two thirds of a AAA lineup.
LTR Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 King Felix is going to f***in clobber us.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 King Felix is going to f***in clobber us. And get no run support in the process.
LTR Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 And get no run support in the process. Their projected lineup wOBA vs righties: 0.364. Ours: 0.306. (This version of wOBA includes base running).
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 No Donaldson today. Weird time for a rest day. He must not hit Felix well, but still Donaldson hits .182 vs. King Felix.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I guess you kinda have to punt this game. Half the lineup shouldn't be out of AAA. If Donaldson doesn't hit Felix well just kinda give up haha.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Yup so Batz hit career lower then that against the last two pitchers we faced and is injuried yet he never sat, wtf!
