Praxis Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Well that died in a hurry. Funny I seem to remember saying that yesterday....
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Please DFA Jeff Francis and fire Pete Walker! We can't continue going on like this if we're going to contend. Hate to say it, but I agree with all of you.. that was a stupid move to give Jeff Francis the 6th inning vs. the lefties. He has nothing left in the tank.. get someone else up here who can actually give innings. Bring Jenkins or Copeland or somebody back up here..
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Jesus Spanky...err... Do you ever post anything that requires an IQ over 4 to post? *sighs*
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Lol EE makes it close. If only we didn't concede 2 HRs in the 6th. Just as questionable as Gibby's decision to bring out Francis in a one run ball game was his choice to leave Hendricks in the game after he got squared up hard on consecutive batters.
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 *sighs* Truth hurts. The last 3 years this board said the team is good enough to win and it wasn't. It was clear to anyone with an semblance of a baseball IQ the pitching was not good enough. Speaking the truth = troll to you. It's sad.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 What's your bet they're doing the same whining we are on the O's boards? They've got pretty much the same record as us.. and they're at high risk of being swept by the Angels this weekend, especially considering both Norris and Tillman were scratched due to illness and injury. Luckily, the Jays avoid Garrett Richards next series.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Most on this board don't know what they are talking about most of the time. I was clear even before stromans injury pitching was a weak spot and we need to improve it. Most on this board argued it was good enough. Yeah when I tried to point out that our pitching sucked, I got called names too. Go figure.
Top 10 Personal Catcher Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Good thing Gibbons benched Edwin for Smoak because he was 5-11 off Feldman! Wilner's view on Gibbons' decisions. Sorry, I don't know how to embed a tweet... Mike WilnerVerified account @Wilnerness590 . @agdmills @bradyfan590 Then go over his tenure and find the head-scratching decisions. There might be a dozen.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Lol this lady on Wilner's show told him everybody on the message boards was cringing when Francis came in and predicted what would happen and Mike's response was that the internet always cringes and predicts bad results no matter who comes in.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 When Stroman got hurt I pointed out serious problems with our rotation and bullpen. I also got laughed at and some dude literally said "There is no bullpen depth issue." just because you've been posting on this board for years don't mean you know the game inside and out.

Wilner's an idiot. Anyone who's seen Francis in recent years knew he was going to get pounded vs. Houston's offense. They really need to get someone else in that long relief role.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 this team is a mess. As is Baltimore, Oakland, Seattle, Cleveland, Chicago (AL)...
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Whatever happened to our deep prospect pool? Great young pitching, great young hitters? We get this garbage. AA is trying to build an all Canadian Olympic team or something. IMHO changes need to happen. AA and JG need to go.

Our farm is still light years ahead of 2009, when it ranked near the bottom because of JPR's terrible drafting.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 As is Baltimore, Oakland, Seattle, Cleveland, Chicago (AL)... All of them have made the playoffs more recently than us. Our current on-field product is just a small fraction of the mess.

When did he ever know how to pitch? Might as well make Ricky Romero the pitching coach. Too soon?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I went to games in 93 and 94. I am from the west coast. I watch every inning every year. This team has serious issues. The pitching has been dreadful for years. Looking at the whip and era of our 5 starters, heads have to roll. Hire the guy Boston just fired as pitching coach.

Not sure if that's a good idea.. the pitching in Boston is just as dreadful as the Jays, with any recent strong performance not being convincing due to the fact they've been playing horrible teams in Oakland and Seattle. Juan Nieves got fired because Boston's pitching has been dreadful post-2013. And that team has just as serious problems as the Jays, starting with that terrible manager..
SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 First game of the year I didn't watch, felt great. Same thing tomorrow. Why Francis is on this team is beyond belief, it really is. I'm ready for heads to roll. Start with gibbons, I was a fan but he seems to be getting worse every game.

True, true, it was somewhat in jest. I just think this theory of going the same route over and over is something that had to change. When Gregg Zaun is right, you know there is a problem.
