I have a hard time forgiving Gruber even if Goins becomes a star. Gruber needs to be evaluated over multiple decisions. If you want to evaluate Gruber please compile all predictions he has made, players he has loved, players he has hated, and give him a rating. Then do the same for other posters.

 

We can apply a WAR like rating to Gruber. It will take some work and we need a large enough sample size. Forgiving Gruber based on... what??

 

And besides... I just checked Fangraphs. Goins is at -0.2 WAR so far this year. Why are we forgiving Gruber?? Because Goins hit a triple last night??

 

Didn't Gruber specifically predict that Ryan Goins would reach a specific WAR??

 

Gruber gets forgiven when Ryan Goins reaches career 2 WAR per 150 games, otherwise we are applying Gruber like logic to Gruber... no way.

 

Lol, what a stupid post. First of all, not many others have the balls to put themselves out there by making bold statements on dark horses. All i have ever said is that there is something in Goins' swing and approach if tweeked the right way by the right people, can transform him into an every day MLB player. As of now, i have no doubt he possess the skill set to be on a 25 man MLB roster somewhere, probably for the next 8-10 years, as i believe he will actually get better as he matures. TBH, the only other poster who that i know of whose personal liking of a mid range prospect that is having success is Boxcar with Marisnick.

Goins was never a prospect, but I agreed that he's a good 25th roster spot.

f***, I know we need them but I hate off days. Reading bad threads and listening to Blue Jays Talk I missed (OMG) and even checked out the old Forum! Yup, its still a mess.
