gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Blue Jays optioned LHP Daniel Norris to Triple-A Buffalo. Norris entered the season with plenty of buzz and put up a decent 3.86 ERA over five starts, but he also had a 1.50 WHIP and had efficiency issues. The lefty complained of a "dead arm" recently, so perhaps he's not quite over that yet and the Jays prefer him working through things at Triple-A in the meantime. They'll need a starter to replace Norris next week. Fri, May 01 2015 2:21 PM

Chance to reset, regain consistency, take off upon return Lol, wasn't Stroman optioned back to AAA last year to get stretched out to start? (could be wrong)

And Stroman's peripherals were fantastic as a reliever. These situations have little in common.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Could this also be a move to save MLB service time?

Mike Wilner @Wilnerness590 · 8m8 minutes ago Echoing @ShiDavidi - this Norris demotion looks a lot like Stroman's a year ago. Stroman was down for 2 1/2 weeks. #Bluejays #Jays lol
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Could this also be a move to save MLB service time? doubt it but if you gain an extra year of control its not a bad thing. Biggest thing is obviously him getting his command back.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 And Devon Travis is out of the lineup tonight as well. Blue Jays looking great.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Norris has looked awful all year besides the Tampa start. Love this move.
baubau Verified Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Love it. Can't wait till the gong show in Sanchez's start begins. Hendricks to rotation and Sanchez to the pen likely.

Getting it back? He never really had it to start with. This was a glaring issue going into the season that everyone seemingly ignored because he had a cool beard and lived in a van.

More like getting back to what he did in the Spring. His stuff has dropped off so maybe give him a few extra days rest.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Is there any word on Travis, is he more seriously hurt that we're to believe? He was really in pain swinging the bat.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I hope he comes back even stronger even more so Francis needs to start

You can like Norris as a pitcher and actually hate the whole Jesus in a van shtick you know? Even those who actually like that can seperate it from his promise as a pitcher which is, you know, a real thing.

Aparrently just sore. X ray came back clean even though he thought he might of cracked it. Sounds like he could be out for a few days.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Let's hope Travis doesn't catch a case of Brian Robertsitus
