RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Expos-level attendance in Cleveland.. just 9,798 showed up. Perhaps Cleveland needs some new management and ownership.. this team has gone nowhere for years since their playoff run in 2007. Should we be trowing rocks in our glass house

baubau Verified Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Didn't we have under 10,000 against the O's? The Raps were playing in the playoff game at home if I recall correctly. Sure it might be the same for the Indians. Most people whom may have gone probably saved the money for the Cavaliers tickets.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Martin now hitting 118 wRC+ on a .220 BAPIP. f***ing nice.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Didn't we have under 10,000 against the O's? 14,184 on that game. Attendance has not gone below 10K in Toronto. Cleveland on the other hand.. 2nd sub 10K attendance in a week.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Martin now hitting 118 wRC+ on a .220 BAPIP. f***ing nice. And with that low BABIP, he's likely headed closer to a .250 average (assuming the norm is .300 BABIP)

As for the Indians, the attendance has been a MAJOR problem for years. They're pushing levels not seen since 1992 on attendance back when they were at the Mistake by the Lake called Cleveland Municipal Stadium..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It was cold as balls. And the Indians are garbage (7-14).
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 At work can I get a Norris update please Never mind got it on twitter. I assume everyone correctly gave Gibbons 100% of the credit for the win?

Martin has always been an OBP guy with elite defense.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Never mind got it on twitter. I assume everyone correctly gave Gibbons 100% of the credit for the win? Norris had nothing, gibby pulled the right strings so yes
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Never mind got it on twitter. I assume everyone correctly gave Gibbons 100% of the credit for the win? Definitely the kind of pro-active managing you would never see under Cito.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Norris had nothing, gibby pulled the right strings so yes I dont agree with that. He wasn't really squared up, or maybe just once. A lot of the hits were just bleeders
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Definitely the kind of pro-active managing you would never see under Cito. So why does Cito have a better record in his come back with far inferior teams? I remember in 2008 when Gibby was fired and the team was 20-30. Cito took the team to 86-76, why is this forgotten now,

Martin has always been an OBP guy with elite defense. Hey, as long as he gets on base, we can live with the low average. We've got enough hitters to help drive him in..
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 At work can I get a Norris update please Beard looked tight and the pants fit right but the whole look could have been made more complete and weather appropriate with a nice blue Tommy Copper compression sleeve. Handsome as always.

That team couldn't hit a barn door, especially Mencherson... and a washed up Frank Thomas who was released a few weeks in, or Shannon Stewart, who took a roster spot over Reed Johnson.. that lack of hitting cost us a shot at the postseason that year.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Could probably do without the necklace cinched around his neck, but other than that was looking good.

Martin has always been an OBP guy with elite defense. His approach at the plate has been great. Takes a ton of pitches fouling off a lot with 2 strikes. It looks like he is going to strike out a bit more but its worth it with the amount of extra BBs hes taking as well. Great to see him hitting well.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I dont understand but There are people here that would like to see Pillar fail.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I dont understand but There are people here that would like to see Pillar fail. I don't want to see him fail, I'm just very bearish on him. He's still an excellent 4th outfielder, though.
