Notes:

Jays:

  • Buehrle has experienced a pretty easy ride to start the season. Toronto has scored at least 12 runs in each of his two starts, which has allowed the veteran lefty to increase his career win total to 201. The 36-year-old has thrown back-to-back quality starts with five earned runs over 12 innings.

Orilols:

  • Norris faced the Blue Jays in his first start of the season, but it didn't exactly go well. He was chased in the fourth inning after allowing eight runs on seven hits and a walk in the Orioles' home opener.

Reyes batting RH vs RHP is going to be hilarious. He's going to be swinging at Norris's slider down and away all night.

Did they say he was going to take a break from hitting as a lefty? This will be interesting.

Any word on Travis? Last i heard he was probably playing tonight, so i guess he needs another day or two? Any word on a timeline?

Arden Zwelling ‏

Spoke to Devon Travis; said he felt like he could play tonight but still has some discomfort when running so being cautious #BlueJays

He's young, and doesn't earn money yet......he'll be playing very soon.

Can the Jays just DFA Smoak and call up Thole to catch Dickey? I mean, seriously. Gibbons wants Navarro to play everyday. So put him at DH everyday, and don't waste Martin's framing on Dickey anymore.

Smoak is getting on base and has a 100 wRC+ and still can't crack the lineup over a fat back-up catcher that can't hit. Unbelievable.

Tonights attendance is expected to be just awful. Monday night game with Raptors playing tonight at ACC in playoffs. They will be lucky to get 10k.

Seems about right.

Thole up is good. But it should be at expense of Navarro, not Smoak.

I agree, but what good is Smoak if he is playing 2 days a week because of the idiot manager?

Navarro should have been traded a few days after Martin was signed. He's not only f***ing up Martin's framing but also costing the team runs on defense with EE at 1B and taking AB's away from a potentially better hitter.

I can't wait until Gibbons is fired.

I agree but when somebody's catcher goes down, and it will happen, Navarro has to have some kind of a resume. I honestly believe there is a GM out there that will give up a nice bullpen piece for Navarro.

Happy to know reyes is back... I really hope he's 100%.. I have a feeling he's still going to be playing injured

Smoak hasn't even been that terrible. His on base is near .400. Atleast he plays defense. Navarro is just a waste of space.

Smoak's defense has been great. Nice to have a true first baseman play the position.

Can someone tell Gibby that Navarro sucks. k thanks.

Gibbons knows this, but Navarro needs to be window shopped hoping he has a few good AB so maybe some drunk GM wants to trade for him.

Daniel Norris underwent an MRI on his left pitching arm, but the tests came back clean and the Toronto Blue Jays left-hander says he’s already feeling better. He said after Sunday’s start that he was going through a ‘dead arm phase,’ which prompted the Blue Jays to take a closer look.

“We just went through some tests to make sure no arteries were getting clogged up or anything like that, making sure my pulse was fine,” Norris said. “Nothing was alarming. It’s just a little bit of fatigue. I’ve been doing everything I can off of the field whether it’s treatment or going in and getting acupuncture and stuff — I did that today. Honestly today in my throwing program I feel a lot better. I’m encouraged right now, just throwing through it, fighting through it.”

Won't be long before Gibby throws a haymaker at Martin

It's been said that Gibbons loves Navarro's bat and playing him is just going to decrease any said "value" he has.

Maybe. From what I've watched we haven't been making bad defensive plays or running the bases poorly, it's just the bull pen has been crapping out.
