Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Estrada getting some funky swings
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 My bet is they skip Norris' next start/give it to Estrada
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 So what are the nationals gonna win, 115? Probably over 90 and I think that the Marlins will lose 90+.. Mets will probably be a .500 team
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 The way Norris performed in Spring and with the current options you would of left him in AAA? Have a hard time believing that.. Spring training is just that, spring training, I didnt say i would of left him off given the jays dire starting pitching, but that doesnt negate the fact that both these kids should be in the minors working on their game. It just illustrates how shiat the Jays pitching depth is
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Umps aren't fooled by pitch framing anymore.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 League leading 51st walk! go team!
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 How are they awful? They have a good lineup with decent pitching. They play in a weak division, so I see them winning 85-90 this year. Braves will be lucky to win 75 games this year, no chance they even sniff .500
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Probably over 90 and I think that the Marlins will lose 90+.. Mets will probably be a .500 team but the Marlins have a better lineup. Stanton, Yellich, Morse and prado
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Their lineup is terrible. Freeman, Simmons and scrubs. Markakis and Gomes are decent, not scrubs. But yeah the others seem like scrubs but they seem to be doing the trick so far
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 10x? Gimme a break. What's actually funny is how King, GD and yourself seem to know how a younger player is going to perform based on projections and milb numbers. You guys seem so confident also and always ridicule other posters if their opinions differ from your Godly projections. Sanchez will outperform Norris and you'll have nothing to say.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Goins is a f***ing good defender.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 but the Marlins have a better lineup. Stanton, Yellich, Morse and prado Yeah but their pitching seems weak and Fernandez won't be back until mid season and off Tommy John...
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Braves will be lucky to win 75 games this year, no chance they even sniff .500 They came into the season with a 73.5 O/U win total. I would say that's generous but they do have the Phillies in their division, so probably about right.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yeah but their pitching seems weak and Fernandez won't be back until mid season and off Tommy John... Yeah but so does the braves, Tehran and then who?
Statman Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Umps aren't fooled by pitch framing anymore. Watch a Pirates game with Cervelli behind the plate. Martin can't frame a boderline pitch for a strike right now if his life depended upon it. He didn't get a single call that last inning on the outside edge.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yeah but so does the braves, Tehran and then who? Wood and Miller are good pitchers... But I agree their lineup is ugly.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 last time we saw this many DP's in a weekend, was that time we had a live feed on Ang's goat.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Wood and Miller are good pitchers... But I agree their lineup is ugly. Look at miller's career peripherals, why do you think Cardinals traded a controllable young pitcher for one year of Heyward

Seems in general umps are calling a smaller strikezone and are aware of framing especially Martin. Even corner strikes are getting called balls.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Wood and Miller are good pitchers... But I agree their lineup is ugly. but considering they don't have an analytics department, they will end up getting a shitload of defensive value out of this team.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 there is nothing like a well played baseball game and this is nothing like it.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Look at miller's career peripherals, why do you think Cardinals traded a controllable young pitcher for one year of Heyward I've seen his peripherals. I still think he's a good pitcher, or at least has a ton of potential.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 There's a group of posters who feel that they have superior opinions, however facts are stubborn. Pitching is terrible the manager is bad the GM dreadful. The time is never ever in sync for one game. They pitch good the hitting will be bad , they hit good the pitching is bad. They hit and pitch good the bullpen is bad . They hit good , pitch good, bullpen is good, the defense is bad. MJ!

Carruths data after the Dickey game has him as the worst framer in baseball (2nd worst to worst)...and his framing has been bad today as well so I'm sure he will stay there another day.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Jays should scrap Castro and Osuna in the bullpen...send them to AAA to get stretched out and give them a chance to start sometime in May or June...they don't have command issues (at least not yet) so they should be more effective then our starters now.
