HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi ·7 mins7 minutes ago #BlueJays call up Ryan Goins, DFA Todd Redmond. edit: angrioter usually posts these asap, he f***ing a donkey?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 f*** you i never get to start threads
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 I'm surprised they didn't call up a reliever to replace him. Delaballs, for e.g.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm surprised they didn't call up a reliever to replace him. Delaballs, for e.g. Especially since the starting rotation has only been able to go 5-6 innings throwing lots of pitches.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm surprised they didn't call up a reliever to replace him. Delaballs, for e.g. With Goins in the mix, it means they can DFA Tolleson when Saunders comes back. Pillar has more than earned the right to stay on as the 4th OF but he can't back up all the positions the way Tolleson can so Goins will be needed.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I predicted last night. Reyes doesn't feel good.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Nice. Really happy Hendriks beat out Redmond. Redmond has pitched well in meaningless situations a full WAR out of the bullpen through the last 2 years
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Yeah, Remond is not that good. And not as good as his results last year. No need to think twice about this one. Dude has been a decent mop up man last 2 years
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Or Goins just sent back down when Saunders back. Tolleson back up MI, Pillar OF, Navarro C, and Valencia CI. If that's the case then why bother calling up Goins at all?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm disappointed by this. I thought he deserved more than 4 innings
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Dude has been a decent mop up man last 2 years Yeah if I had to choose between the last year of Brian Tallet and Redmond...
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm disappointed by this. I thought he deserved more than 4 innings It's not about innings, it's about save 23M dollars Reyes' health.

Doubt we have a "4th OF"...more like Bautista playing first a few games and 1 OF DHing a few games.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Steamer has Hendriks out of the pen with 8.08 K/9, 1.38 BB/9, 3.39 ERA, 3.43 FIP, 0.2 WAR in 28 IP. Wade-esque
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Scott MacArthur Jose Reyes isn't taking pre-game groundballs or BP (on the field at least). He is in the starting lineup.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Right move. Redmond looked terrible and you don't need a below avg long man with Hendricks and Estrada.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Doubt we have a "4th OF"...more like Bautista playing first a few games and 1 OF DHing a few games. In which case Tolleson might still be needed to backup the OF and IF.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 that was from yesterday wasn't it? Yep.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Well s***. I thought he was taken off to give him rest on a blow out game, not that there is actually something wrong. Dammit Reyes, start eating your weeties! Yeah I didn't realize that either. I guess this move isn't really about Redmond but about the need for an immediate fill in for Reyes. Redmond is merely the casualty.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Estrada next up? One of Estrada/Hynes/Tolleson/Goins.
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I thought Redmond was solid
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 One of Estrada/Hynes/Tolleson/Goins. Man, if they cut Estrada, I'll be pissed. That's 4m they could have put into 2-3 relievers to avoid having to use Castro and Osuna, plus they traded someone useful for him. I'm guessing Hynes and Tolleson are next up, in that order.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm glad everyone's finally on the Hendriks train. He's damn good.

Good chance it's Goins that goes down as Tolleson has much more versatility. Would allow you to use Bautista at 1B and still DH another OF if you needed to.

Yesterday Hendriks was invisible to you, I say that he is good, and now ur splurting these stats. Hes got 2 clicks more on his FB in the bullpen right? He will get a bunch of starts anyways after Sanchez gets demoted.

I'm thinking Estrada might clear though. I'd rather have him in the AAA rotation than the bullpen but I'm unclear how realistic expecting him to clear is. He's not cheap which could help.
