LTR Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Post your all-time favorite OF play. If it works we can do another for IF. My favorite is not even a Blue Jays play but Endy Chavez in 2006 NLCS Game 7 (Mets vs. Cards). Tie game, bottom of the 6th. Scott Rolen hit a deep fly ball to LF, Chavez was running back at full speed, leaped, his arm stretched out well over the fence to just barely grab it and they ended up turning it into a double-play. All this happened over an AIG sign that read "THE STRENGTH TO BE THERE". Though the Mets went on to lose that game it was just incredible in the moment.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 You said play, not catch, so probably the Canseco head homer

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 oops I was thinking only jays plays that I watched live.
aselvana Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 BO's nailing harry reynolds at home im at work cant post a link, but I assure you it was f***ing flithy
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 These 3 came to mind.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSFkhzpTnVU - Ankiel's throw home....runner doesn't dare test him. - Edmonds "the catch" - Wise saves Buehrle's perfect game We could do this for decades guys...so many amazing plays in baseball history. Jeter's flip (even if he was safe, what a play).
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Favorite IF play is easy This is much batter --->
JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Always liked this Bo Jackson outfield assist:

JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hockey play, but was very good ---> Michael Barret made a lot of friends with that right.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I am just going to put this right here...
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I am just going to put this right here... I feel really bad for Barton. Way too much abuse he's had to take ever since and he wasn't the only fool reaching for the ball. It also looked like it was going to hit him on review.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) This absurdly accurate throw by Jeff Francouer from 2011: Edit: realized this is only outfield plays. Edited April 17, 2015 by NorthOf49
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 runner up- Bo Jackson running up the wall 1st- 1988 Mets vs. Reds Strawberry saving a HR and starting his throw to 2nd for the double play before his feet were on the ground (I was at this game). Best Blue Jays- Tie between Devon White and Pillar (Pillar's was more impressive but Whites was during the World Series) Edit: always liked Kevin Mitchel's bare handed catch (though it was more of blooper)
bendera3 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I wouldn't do an infield version. All the trolls will just say "all of Jeter's jump throws"
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 For OF, it's already been mentioned, but Wise's catch to save Buehrle's perfecto was amazing. Ruggiano made this great play against Lawrie a few years back: Rajai's catch over the wall is still great, even though Pillar took away some of its luster last night: http://m.mlb.com/video/v23858931/must-c-catch-davis-scales-the-wall-to-bring-one-back/?query=Rajai+Davis+catch Non-OF, Buehrle himself made one of the greatest plays I've ever seen: http://m.mlb.com/video/v7282679/clecws-buehrles-backhand-flick-gets-the-runner Of course I also have to mention Jeter's cutoff to nab Giambi at home. http://m.mlb.com/video/v3134880/nyyoak-gm-3-jeter-cuts-down-runner-with-iconic-flip
JoJo Parker Dunedin Blue Jays - A SS On Tuesday, Parker was just 1-for-5, but the one hit was his first professional home run. Explore JoJo Parker News >
