ScientificReason Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Anyone else worried about Dickey tomorrow? I would assume it's tough to throw a knuckleball in the cold/wet Of course, it's dickey, worried everytime he hits the mound.

If Dickey have a good performance we'll be happy. If Dickey have a bad outing we'll criticize him as always.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I felt more comfortable with Happ on the mound knowing we'll need to score 4+ runs and his damage was usually spread out getting pulled when his pitch count got high. Whereas Dickey either cruises through 7 strong or 50/50 implodes in the 5th/6th with a barrage of walks & homers.
43211234 Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 The anti-Blue Jay bias in the US media reached incredible proportions opening day. I've seen coverage of the game that didn't even mention the Blue Jays. It was Yankees this and Yankees that, A-Rod, Tanaka, but not even a mention of the Blue Jays playing the Yankees until the score was given. One didn't even mention the Blue Jays in that, it was "Yankees go down 6-1". The US media doesn't even want to acknowledge the existence of the team. The total lack of respect this team, the organization gets from the US media should be used in the clubhouse to motivate the team. Why wouldn't they do this? The media is going to cover the teams and storylines that most affects their market. By far, the team with the least amount of american fans is the Blue Jays.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 "The Blue Jays won 6-1 Monday at the Stadium and the Yankees must hope the season opener was a singular event of incompetence and not a coming attraction for all of 2015. Because the offense looked as atrocious as it had the past two years. Didi Gregorius began life after Jeter with a baserunning mistake that would cost a Little Leaguer his postgame ice cream cone. However, most troubling of all — short- and long-term — was the lack of faith Tanaka had in his fastball and how justified he was for having it." - Joel Sherman, New York Post http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif

We lost numerous games last year because gibbons left dickey in too long....You can almost predict the dickey implosion. Gibby needs a quicker hook with him this year.

Good luck to hitters trying to adjust from Dickey to that kind of heat.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 It's raining since yesterday in NY City
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I was watching the Astros broadcast and they were raving about Edwin's homer and the considerable power he has. I watched this broadcast as well. They were talking Jays for a solid 2 minutes, raving about the middle of the lineup. People do talk about us! Just because we don't hear every broadcast from every game doesn't mean nobody is paying attention P.S. I f***ing love MLB TV. First season trying it, and you can even do monthly subscriptions now. Love it. Not a plug, but get on that s***.

Considering the Jays luck with freak injuries, I'm not sure how excited I am at the prospect of them playing on a wet field.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 That may be good. Send Dickey to the showers in the 5th inning with the lead before the typical late game implosion.

If that is accurate they probably get the game in. Not sure I like the cold wet weather with Dickey pitching tho. Might be hard for him to find his grip

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 This is why its so f***ing dumb to have a day off after the first game. It doesn't make any sense. Make it at the end of the series, rather than just waste of a day

Make it at the end of the series, rather than just waste of a day If you bought tickest to the Home Opener and your game got bumped to the end of the series and those who bought tickest to the 2nd game got to see the de-facto home opener you'd be pissed.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Tomorrow's game is pretty much a lock to get postponed as well. http://i.gyazo.com/68c24ba8ec716db5272771260408f17a.png Kinda blows when you wait all winter for the season to start, and then when they tease you with an excellent Game 1, there's no ball for the next three days.

Since when did light rain and showers postpone games?

It's just a choppy and convoluted paragraph with near-fragment sentences. It's just that he is given money to do this that gets me.
