That would cost way more than what Rogers would be willing to spend.

Beatles songs cost an arm and a leg to get the rights to use.

Honestly I'm not sure why there needs to be a slogan, and a new one every year.

Plus, the money goes to Michael Jackson's estate, and that's just morally objectionable...

Pretty sure Deamau5 would cause fans to go insane. If I had to listen to that s*** while watching the Blue Jays I'd be very disappointed.

Yeah, he might not fit that need very well.

Is his stuff really that out there? I thought it was just garden variety commercial remixing.

AFAIK he doesn't remix anything. People remix his stuff to make it more awful + lyrics. Most of his stuff is just instrumental, I like it a lot.

But I meant that every commercial break would feel like going to a rave.

He's definitely remixed stuff, most prominently Foo Fighters but I have come across other stuff too. I guess I have just assumed he was very commercial because of the high profile remixes but I'm not really familiar with his solo output. I typically enjoy electronica, both experimental and commercial, so there's a good chance I'd enjoy it.

This is why people outside of Canada think we're all a bunch of dumb hosers here. There are actually people in this country who totally don't get this obvious double entendre. It reminds me a few years ago when the Federal Conservative Party actually wanted to call themselves something that turned into the acronym of "CCRAP" and then they were embarrassed enough into changing it. I guess whoever worked on that a decade ago is working for the Jays' marketing department now. I blame John Tory for this because he's the connection between the conservatives and Rogers.

People seem to have embraced 'we the north' but it always sounded weird to me, like there's a word or two missing. We the north...what? We are the north? Slogans aren't necessarily supposed to be grammatical but it sounds truncated.

It's the f***ing NBA. All you need is some dude with gold teeth and oversized cheap jewelry saying it while blazing with 50 Cent, eating watermelon and drinking gin and tonic. Good grammar doesn't go well with promoting the "urban" stereotypes that league seems to love.

I wouldn't touch that post with either your dick or your pole.
