o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 It's concerning, imo. his defense is nothing to write home about so far. maybe he's thinking too much... I doubt they made the trade with this being the way he plays.

It's not like the ball went right past him, the fact that he's at least able to keep it in front of him is a good sign.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Viciedo grounds out to SS to end the inning.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The pitch framing data tells the opposite, at least through the Posada years. The Yankees got the least balls called strikes. I think he means yankee hitters, not catchers

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Drabek gets a swinging K. Decent pitches in there.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Lol, apparently in practices Drabek shags flyballs as a lefty.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Some Yankees hitter singles to RF, Goins had a beat on it but the ball took a weird hop at the end.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The Yankees guy steals second, noodle throw by Thole lol.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 LOL cf Throw out a few nuts and the squirrels always seem to come out.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 the fact that he's at least able to keep it in front of him is a good sign. glad you're setting the bar really high. lol if it was JUST the two today it wouldn't be an issue. it's been more than once every game he's started. one time is one time, two times is twice and three times is a trend.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Drabek gets another swinging K. 12-6 curve this time.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 WP from Drabek, wasn't totally wild, Thole just didn't block it very well.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Groundout to Goins ends the inning.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Is this the year drabek gets dfa'd?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Wow, Norris already has a 9:3 K/BB ratio through 7 innings.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris sheepishly says he didn't really like his outing, but he looked pretty good to me. Everyone else too. Sometimes it's just best to take the perfectionist's opinion with a grain of salt.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Matt Hague at the plate. Fights off a couple of good pitches, on a terrible job of framing he gets called out on strikes.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Tolleson walks on a full count.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 After a long battle between the pitcher and Tolleson at first, the latter is picked off.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Alford works the full count, on another borderline pitch high the Yankees get the benefit of the doubt, he's called out on strikes.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Alford works the full count, on another borderline pitch high the Yankees get the benefit of the doubt, he's called out on strikes. strike zone has been on the magical mystery tour all night.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Jenkins plunks the batter on his first pitch.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Passed ball from Thole, runner advances to second.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Groundout to Kawasaki at third. One out, runner on second. It's the 9th inning btw.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Jenkins K's the batter (I don't know any of these Yankees hitters). Two outs.
