KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pompey tries to bunt for a single but Rogers makes a nice play to get the ball quickly and just throw him out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pompey lays down a nice looking bunt, Esmil without hesitation makes a good play to retire him.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pompey tries to bunt for a single but Rogers makes a nice play to get the ball quickly and just throw him out. That was a beautiful looking bunt.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Fan in the background shouting, "AROD NO ONE LIKES YOU". A girl voices, "I DO!" Pretty funny.
S33n Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Who is this Gindle guy, lol. 3 triples this spring?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Gindl battles after falling behind early, he hits a line drive into the RF corner, stretches out the triple with Beltran taking a while.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 Gindl extra base hitting machine this spring
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 That was a beautiful looking bunt. For someone that was such a "raw" prospect, Pompey does everything you'd expect a complete player to do. He can bunt (that one was well below the strike zone and he still laid it down nicely), he gets good instinctual jumps in the OF, and his plate discipline skills are there.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The triple was ruled a double because the OF is weird, the ball practically left the field.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 That was a beautiful looking bunt. The bunt for a hit is a good thing for Pompey to have in his arsenal. If he saves it for weaker fielding pitchers, it should let him steal some singles if it's as good as the one we saw today.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pillar fouls away some pitches after falling behind 0-2, ends up hitting a flyball foulout to Gardner in LF.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pillar hits a fly ball to foul territory to end the inning.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris back out for the third. He gets squeezed on back-to-back borderline pitches outside. Ends up going right back there getting a called third strike on a breaking ball.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Bla, bla, bla, van, bla, bla, bla.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Cole Figueroa hits an oppo line drive on a high fastball, Pillar tries to make a good play to limit him to a single, but Figueroa ends up stretching it for a double.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 So there is blood on Norri's pants. Looks like he may have a blister. Also Norris has been pitching really well and the ump, being a blind bat, has called a lot pitches balls that should be strikes.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris throwing a lot of good breaking balls just off the edges this inning.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris keeps getting squeezed, borderline fastball on the outside doesn't get called. On a full count Ellsbury grounds out to Travis. Figueroa advances to third.

I think he was grazed by the bat when it broke and came towards him earlier in the game. I could definitely be wrong about it tho.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 3-2 curveball in the zone to Ellsbury shows maturity and gets a weak groundout. I like Norris!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Ellsbury with a weak grounder to 2B, briefly bobbled by Travis but not fatally so.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Not a a wow outing by Norris so far but a nice display of competence.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Fastball by Gardner (whiff). Slider in the zone, Gardner way out front (foul) Big Slow Curveball in the zone, Gardner whiffs. K!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Gardner strikes out to end the inning and the outing for Norris.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris strikes out Gardiner with a slow curve ball. 3 pitch strike. Think all of Norris' strike outs today have been a swinging strike.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Brett Gardner absolutely fooled on a slow curveball on the outside, he goes down swinging on three pitches.
