S33n Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Now Navarro completely whiffs on the ball and lets it his the umpire directly in the face......
Frank Menechino Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I'm basing this purely off hearsay over the years, but isn't Cervelli good in that regard as well? Cervelli actually graded marginally better than Martin on a per/game basis, but Martin was better for total runs saved. Source: http://www.statcorner.com/CatcherReport.php

Source: http://www.statcorner.com/CatcherReport.php Thanks for that, Kind of crazy the difference in contracts the two guys got, but obviously Martin has a much more extensive track record.
Cyris Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I'm basing this purely off hearsay over the years, but isn't Cervelli good in that regard as well? Not nearly as good as Martin. Martin has 4 individual seasons with where he was worth a full win more than Cervelli has earned in his entire career. And that doesnt factor in Martins superior pitch framing or impact on the young pitchers.

Pirates are trying to be savvy employing 2 okay/decent catchers with good defensive skills, instead of relying on one great catcher. Cervelli probably won't see the workload of a starting catcher so he shouldn't get paid like one. edit: also, most MLB teams are getting insane value for players like Cervelli whose skills are mainly defensive, because the market just doesn't reflect the value of defense accurately yet
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Donaldson f***ing rips balls
skicross1 Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Pretty good crowd for a spring game .
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I really like Sanchez for the 5th starter spot...but he has to make his change up way better. It isn't nearly as good as his other pitches. Might give Norris a leg up
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 EE's DP hit hussle is equal to Navarro.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Dumb and dumber arguing about the existence of pitch framing. What a couple of f***ing morons
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 So is there actually a rule about one foot in the batter's box or what?

Frank Menechino Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Dumb and dumber arguing about the existence of pitch framing. What a couple of f***ing morons They're obviously not morons, but are displaying an obvious resistance to changing times (analytics), probably because they feel they are an authority of baseball knowledge due to their playing time.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Lots of swing and misses from Barns... to bad they are crushing anything he misses

They are idiots.... If we take a vote here I think you would find that most people think they are dinosaurs who haven't evolved. There are a lot of former players who are thick as bricks. Just because they played or even managed doesn't mean they are smart.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Navarro... that is just embarassing Pikachu is doing all he can to get traded
