Laika Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Interesting to read. I only really notice extreme batting stance changes (i.e., Colby). I'm sure no one has made a comparison gif for Kevin Pillar, but this post makes me want to see one. If Pillar can become the hands-down fourth outfielder, that would be a secretly great improvement to the roster. If you watch the home run clip alongside a clip from last year, there doesn't seem to be any significant change. His leg kick isn't notably higher than last year. Just a little bit more open in his stance.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 True, he's in there I just hardly see him smile so it was a bit hazy in my memory Yeah there aren't a lot of pictures of him smiling. I guess the fact that his smiles are relatively rare adds to the charm.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Just some guys trying to be funny or trying to be "the life of the party" types. The jokes are old and no longer come across as funny but they still continue with it maybe not realizing how they are coming across. It helps by putting them on ignore however when others keep quoting the individual you are once again subjected to seeing their nonsense. Just wish there was a way to have that quote not show up at all but that is not possible as far as I am aware. Anyway, it's like junk mail, you can slow it down but never eradicate it totally. This site has some great contributors and it is interesting to see the opposing views at times however the GDT specifically can be quite a challenge at times. I can understand feelings of disappointment in a bad result but to some, they live and die for each pitch/at-bat/error and that takes away from the experience of fans being together virtually supporting their team. The "fire/dfa/moron/idiot" repetitive comments are just too much at times but sadly I keep coming back to the GDTs. Anyway, it was great to see some baseball once again and I am anxious for the Bluejays to get into season form. I am hoping to see some exciting baseball from all of them more-so the new comers. Yeah but this does not bode well for potential new posters. If a new guy came here and read this thread he probably wouldn't even want to sign up.

If a new guy came here and read this thread he probably wouldn't even want to sign up. Hopefully the mods take this view point as well and act accordingly. I know the mods are doing their best to ensure this place is enjoyable (I know they do not want the site to be overly censored) but personally I find it hard to enjoy the GDT with those types of posts taking place. Anyway, the ignore function does help to mitigate behaviour.
