NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 He's right though. The Jays won't regret trading Barreto this year. Maybe in a few years down the road, but that's not the question. I don't understand how someone can believe the Jays will regret trading Barreto more than Syndergaard in 2015.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I don't understand how someone can believe the Jays will regret trading Barreto more than Syndergaard in 2015. Synderlander was traded two years ago, in having said that, I'd agree, awful move.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Synderlander was traded two years ago OP doesn't say anything about when the trade was made, just the player that they will regret the most this year. Syndergaard could be a monster.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I'm pretty sure that the TS meant 'which of the players traded this year will the Jays most regret trading'. f*** you guys are dumn. Especially North and King.

King Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The Jays won't regret trading anyone away. AA Chat: http://i.imgur.com/BMlthls.png

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 No, that's just how the first three respondents interpreted it. They were wrong. See past the awful grammar and put yourself in the shoes of the cretin who started this thread. He was talking about players traded this offseason.

King Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Didn't the guy that started the thread name Barreto as his player...and he added 'down the road' to his response. Can't we assume from that, that he meant which player that was traded this off-season will they regret letting go of? Not at all.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Since they didn't actually trade anyone (of consequence) this year this entire thread is senseless. Brett Lawrie is definitely a player of consequence, but I don't think the team will regret moving him for Donaldson.

This is a discussion forum, and in order for things to work properly everyone needs to have a certain level of reading comprehension and intelligence. Having threads ruined by a couple of drooling invalids who can't understand English is bad for the community. Paging Hurl, Chappy etc...
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 11/28/14 Oakland Athletics traded 3B Josh Donaldson to Toronto Blue Jays for LHP Sean Nolin, 3B Brett Lawrie, RHP Kendall Graveman and SS Franklin Barreto. http://www.quickmeme.com/img/78/78be62f68a84116500dd40052c820fbed5ab2831658d6cd3c0836c110d35a88c.jpg

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I thought that the question included all trades involving active players. The selecting of Barreto does not preclude that possibility. My apologies for causing commotion.

Maahfaace Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Dennis Boucher is my pick, guy put up a .3 WAR with 5.69 FIP in 35 innings....not an easy feat. Fun question: Which one of you old bastards can tell me, without looking it up, who was involved in the trade with Cleveland that dumped this would be future HOF had he remained in the dome?

jays76 Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Lind. AA claimed it was to save deniero but if you combine Smoak & Estrada it's only 2M, he hated Lind but that missing dangerous lefty bat will be key in a lot of situations this yr. Hopefully I'm wrong though and Smoak/Estrada have useful campaigns..

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Yeah I hope he can bounce back from his back issues, he could really be an x-factor off the bench. He's already filling the lefty with back issues void.
spats Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Sorry about the confusion. What I meant to say is-Who would they miss the most from deals they made this off season regardless of who they got back.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Lind. Hopefully I'm wrong though and Smoak/Estrada have useful campaigns.. I think the hope is Smoak provides similar value to Lind (better on defense/upside with the bat) and Estrada becomes a useful piece as a fifth starter/long man to replace Happ. I don't think those are unreasonable projections, although a lot will depend on what Smoak does.
Nafro Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I really do like Kendall Graveman. However, I think J.A. Happ, with a decent framing catcher and the hitters park is going to win 13-15 games this year. I hope that both sides win that deal, and Saunders plays well with us. Short term I think Happ, long term I think Graveman is going to be a very decent 3-4 type SP.
Nafro Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Lol @ your measuring stick for performance. I'm realistic. It obviously means I don't have any problem with trading them for what we got back. Would you disagree with that assessment? A number 3 pitcher means you're probably one of the top 100-150 pitchers in the world. That certainly doesn't suck.
Nafro Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 He is saying Wins mean absolutely nothing, and he is correct. Did you just really make the statement "Wins mean absolutely nothing"? Where is Herm Edwards when you need him. I'm all for advanced analytics, believe me I'm a math nerd. But at the end of each and every game, just give me a W, the rest does not matter.
