Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 20 fking 15 and we haven't figured out sprinkler technology in a multi billion dollar industry.
Governator Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Of what exactly? We all know about the injury. You're the only one who seems to be implying that his invalidates sabermetrics (or something). That we shouldn't need to make a trade that a lot here are suggesting according to our past discussions. We knew Saunders wasn't going to be playing a full season and most here seemed to say that's fine because we've made up Cabrera's lost wins in other areas so a replacement level player for Saunder's missed games would be sufficient. We shouldn't need to look at trades if we're to believe Pillar can be average for 80 games. I'm just relaying what everyone here said in the past, albeit with a bit of sarcastic sneer to it.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 This sucks, but we're about to see my boy AA go to work. He saved some cash and he's already made calls.

jayswin11 Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Good excuse to put Reyes in LF and play someone who can play def at SS
Governator Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 You seem to be implying that it no longer holds up. Yea, I think they need to make a trade. It would be absurd not to. To think Saunders is going to come back and play a full second half is very unlikely. I don't believe he'll play more than 40 games this year if he's truly out until the all star break. I guess you could argue that Andy Dirks could be available then but that's hard to predict.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Pillar is probably dancing right now. pop goes his ACL?
Governator Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 What happens if Pompey struggles?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Good excuse to put Reyes in LF and play someone who can play def at SS Yeah, no.
flafson Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 What happens if Pompey struggles? He doesn't, he's the next Mike Trout.
flafson Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Good excuse to put Reyes in LF and play someone who can play def at SS Doesn't sound like such a bad idea, at least he has speed.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 What happens if Pompey struggles? Outfield depth wasn't great to begin with, it's certainly no better now. Pillar/Pompey/Bautista isn't necessarily bad but immediate contingencies are next to non-existent. Carrera is fine as an all glove CF but certainly not viable for more than short stretches. I don't know much about Caleb Gindl other than he's really short and bats left-handed. He's probably no more than a platoon option like Dickerson.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Would of been nice for Saunders to injure himself in July so there are teams looking to dump players...but I still have faith AA will pull something off.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 At least Pillar should be a reasonable replacement and only cost us half a win there. One more OF injury and were really screwed though. If only they had someone to play 2B or a super utility type. They'd still have Travis as the next guy to start in case of an OF injury, without a huge drop in the projections. Unless of course that next injury is Bautista.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Doesn't sound like such a bad idea, at least he has speed. Except that "someone who can play SS" in this case probably means notorious noodle bats like Goins or Ramon Santiago.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 he stepped on a f***ing sprinkler and he misses half the season? lol this f***ing team. How is that worse then tripping down stairs? Your a donkey.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Is Travis a viable OF? afaik they asked him to try out CF but before they could get started he got traded. But if they were comfortable sending him there in the first place, well, I doubt there would be an issue. If this team is willing to put a guy like E5 in LF last year, then surely they'd consider Travis.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Is Travis a viable OF? I was just gonna say this....f*** this sucks....The price of OF's just went up....If AA comes calling the teams won't budge for what they want back.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Is Travis a viable OF? Guy is athletic and has those 3 games in CF for the Tigers. Prior to that it was a few Cape Cod games in LF when he was with the Seminoles. Not a lot of history with it...and he's still the best option at 2B. But it would be good to have that option.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Rofl one day after I said he was one of the keys to the season. Lol @ our soln to left being Saunders right after we got rid of injury plagued Lawrie for being out for too many games. Still pick Saunders over Melky? Being cheap never pays. Kinda glad this happened. AA is in s***, Melky's prolly feeling great, and Pillar gets a shot. Win win win
Ehjays Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Nice way to earn money, Saunders!! Stay the f*** at home,,,,don't want you getting your nice f***in sandals caught in the urinals!!!

If there was some magic way to throw Navarro's money at the OF, it would all come out even in the wash.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I wonder if the DBacks might move someone like David Peralta or Ender Inciarte for Navarro.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 One ugly lineup. Navarro at DH is a joke. Pillar, Izturis, Pompey are below average at their position on offense. Martin, from an offensive standpoint, could put up a dud line like he has many times in his career. That's an ugly lineup? Jesus
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 That's an ugly lineup? Jesus It's ugly in that the bottom 4 could very well likely end up being a black hole.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Lmao the guy turned out to be MORE fragile than originally overestimated. Atleast it's not 1B going down, Lind can't quite jubilate just yet.
