Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 That wouldn't be mine. If I'm making $7.5M a year I damn well better be earning it. There's no price tag on my pride. Romero has to be living with a lot of shame and guilt of being a failure that's being paid to go away, and that must send him into a downward spiral that makes him even worse. The only person who is less deserving of the money he made was Bernie Madoff...seriously Romero is just one step above criminals who intentionally defraud people in terms of not earning his money. That's how far he's fallen. OUCH!!! cf

I feel the same way about doctors that lose a patient...and that scientist that can't cure cancer. f*** them, make them give it all back. That wouldn't be mine. I have a lot of respect for guys like Romero, he could have given up a long time ago to try and do something else. His resilience shouldn't be in question. I suggest you get over your butthurt and come back with a clearer thought process instead of spewing nonsense
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Honestly who compares Ricky Romero to Bernie Madoff, a coward and useless human being
jays76 Verified Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Romero's a competiter, no one tried harder than him to come back but mentally he's caught in a nightmare and physically his body started to fall apart too. He just doesn't have it anymore, I'm sure he's seen tons of sports psychologists and worked with dozens of pitching coaches on his mechanics but his confidence is completely shot! All his life batters bit on his nasty curveball and then one day they just stopped swinging, once his bread & butter was figured out it left him dead in the water whenever he ventured back into the zone. I think this has left him devastated personally and professionally but then again he's a multimillionaire who's dating the former Miss America so I'm not feeling too sorry for him..Comparing him to Bernie Madoff though is pretty funny (that was a joke right?). Since you brought it up, let's discuss the real reason he fell apart. Evel Knievel was right, women are the root of all evil.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 jays were 3 games up on the wild card at the deadline and the piggy didn't even make a move. Demoralized the team completely. Even minor add moves would have been a great source if inspiration

Even minor add moves would have been a great source if inspiration Why are you headhunting AA so much today? You realize that it's ownership that controls his budget right, I'm sure if he had the funds last year he would've pulled the trigger at the deadline. AA can be annoying because he's a master bullshitter with his double talk and smokescreens but ultimately it's Rogers who controls his finances. He's on the bubble this season so I'm sure he'll find a way to creatively spend every penny. Also I don't think ownership wants a repeat of last years debacle with the bad publicity and fan backlash so they might open up the purse strings a little wider to ensure a playoff birth.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Since we bought up Rickey in here, question even though no one would claim him I think, can we not just release him as he is just wasting and taking up innings in either league!

We have to pay him either way, what's the point in releasing him? There's a slim chance that he could actually provide some value this year if he figures out what in the everloving f*** derailed him so severely...

Remind me again when the trade deadline was, and whether that qualified as at least a minor move?

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 In fairness, it was a remarkably s***** move. Agreed, but his argument wasn't "they only made s***** moves" it was "they made no moves and it destroyed the confidence of those special little snowflakes, any move would have made them into ubermensches who would have demolished the rest of the league with their mighty confidence fairies!"

But I just figure why waste coaching or a roster spot on to suck in the Milb too! He is not even invited to spring training at this point I believe! And if somebody get Depaired by injuries maybe the baseball gods fool somebody into taking him and we save a half a million, win win win!

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 lmfao i have to sig this Awesome, except I sorta f***ed up... the plural of übermensch is actually übermenschen (and I also left out the umlauts, because I'm lazy and didn't realize that I was going to be preserved for posterity...) Please correct accordingly! Edit: f***, I'm even being pedantic with myself, I must be awesome at parties!

You finally learned after a thousand posts that the guy who thought using the name "Dick_Pole" (fully knowing that 90% of people aren't going to get the reference for the greatest pitching coach of all-time) might not be the most upstanding of individuals! And FTR, I didn't compare Romero to Madoff, I said he was one step above him. Reading comprehension, my friend. That's why people don't respect you like they do Fidel.
