I'm thinking there had to be some misunderstanding of the question. Maybe they thought they weren't for sure anonymous so they wanted to give lip service to their own players, or maybe the question was worded in such a way to illicit creative out of the box responses.

I can think of more than 50 guys I'd rather build a team around than Sal Perez or Blake Swihart. That they even got mentioned as a third choice is a joke.

And to top it off, 0 votes for Lucroy.

Seems like most GMs are pretty stupid.

I dunno if I could name 50 guys I'd take over Salvy. But obviously no argument with your general point

I have no idea why Salvador Perez gets franchise player attention. There are mother f***ing PITCHERS that I would take before him.

He's a solid above average, young backstop, but he's so f***ing overrated.

"Executive" could basically mean senior consultants who don't even know how to use computers.

He's so good at everything else that he's probably never been told to try framing techniques. I think that's also a big reason why many, myself included at some point, just automatically assume he's a good framer.

I mean there's like 4 Blue Jays players I'd take over Salvy.

Yeah no forget I ever said anything about Salvador Perez being valuable

He's a top 10 catcher (lol) and entering his age 25 season. He's highly overrated, but still a valuable asset.

He's solid. But there are many more valuable guys.

Mookie Betts still doesn't get any respect despite Fangraphs pumping him up day and night. He's in this conversation.

How do you not know who's a good/bad framer? There are hundreds of articles a season published about the stuff and it's not like catchers change year-to-year.

There's no rule against being in two cliques.

The Normans would immediately disown any Norman who identified as a Howie.

@BTS: North is teaching me R and how to build models, and every time I tell him "I ran a regression" I laugh.

Brady Aiken, 2015 draft eligible, left his game today after 12 pitches, apparently with 'arm tightness'.

He turned down $5M from Houston, who became concerned with his elbow after a post-draft physical (initial agreement was for $6.5M).

Pretty s***** year to not have a 1st rounder when Brady Aiken is going to possibly plummet with TJS....

He's eligible and hurt, perfect jays draft pick if he falls to the second round

f***ing brilliant editing on that article... "That kind of situation happen this year." That's the full sentence...

Cut the editor some slack, they probably had to edit a Jon Heyman article just before doing this one. I'm sure that's extremely mentally draining.

Good call, given an injection today for shoulder inflammation and shut down from pitching

Maybe it's time to trade Ryu to Boxy.
