That could be Dominican Republic team C.

Congratulations, you guys are really good at stick ball. Poor people tend to be.

Another day in the office to deGrom.

4 scoreless, no walk, 6 K's

Its amazing how many high end talent pitchers NYM have. I am jelly and upset that we aided them in that too. :(

uh wow one of the Royal's broadcasters doesn't know what "faux" means. Spent a minute looking it up in the dictionary and couldn't find it.

It means "fake" or "false".

Rays bullpen absolutely just melted down. Riefenheuser and Ball Four just combined to give up 6 runs and give the Yanks a commanding lead. Not to mention Tanaka is dominating them too..

Has anyone seen the train wreck in Miami? Not only are they 3-9, even Stanton is complaining:

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/18/giancarlo-stanton-says-the-fire-is-not-there-with-marlins/

Blame it on a lack of offense, and terrible pitching, especially with Alvarez hurt and Latos struggling badly..

Well Stanton had to know that he was signing with the Marlins, not with the Yankees or Dodgers. Thus, losing seasons can be very possible-- and can even become the norm.

#Rays designate RHP Grant Balfour for assignment.

That signing has not worked well. I was too much of a fanboy to criticize it when it happened :(

A series too late. :(

That Balfour signing was one of the most confusing things the Rays have done recently. Loney extension too.

I figured they just wanted him to rack up saves to cut down arb costs. He had an 86 xFIP- in 2013 too. 10.7% SwStr%. Wonder what went wrong.

I always find this line of reasoning so silly. Teams are going to pay free agent money to a reliever just so their in-house reliever doesn't earn near free agent money in arbitration? Makes no sense.

Depends on the money. If there was a few million dollars in difference between projected arb totals with and without Balfour, it might have been worth it to a team like the Rays.

As well maybe they thought someone would see "low ERA and savez!!" and give up something ok for him but the low ERA part didn't go so well.

I'm thinking it was one of those weird GM moves where the analytics group just lets out a collective groan when they hear it's about to happen.

Can't find the Fire AA thread :(

Don't worry about it, he magically stopped sucking this offseason.

No Twins regulars have a positive fWAR right now.

Team leader is Eduardo Nunez with +0.1 in 3 PA.
