There's no way the Dodgers sell low on Puig because of whatever you want to call his issues. This isn't the Arizona Diamondbacks we're talking about who place value on gritty white guys.

It's not really about character for me. It's about making smart baseball plays on the field and adjustments. Puig misses in one of those categories at least.

Going after Puig just undos all the stuff that AA was preaching about, which is filling this club with character guys.

We have no need for Puig.

Meh. I find the whole "character guy" thing so subjective. Jose has been criticized on that front forever. Not a leader...complains and showboats too much...blah blah blah.

Do we think our trash (in Rasmus) is thought of negatively in Houston's run this season? AA was alluding to him in part, and he came over from STL as a problem child.

Danny V seems to be fine...then Wilner says because nobody tweeted goodbye to him like they did for Reyes that there are clubhouse issues with him. A's seem to like him.

I don't really know the deal with Puig...his rep sucks. But the talent is immense.

So Pigf***er and no Pig. Well f***. I would like to think we have a spot for a potential 6 Win player.

You want this guy on your team?

How can you even compare Bautista to Puig? They are totally different.

Bautista isn't a jackass off the field.

Josh Donaldson would probably be regarded as a hotheaded ******* if the team finishes with like 85 wins this year.

The Yankees team which won all those World Series in the late 90s was full of *******s. Ultimately the most important thing is to have a clubhouse where the players stick together after consecutive losses instead of turning on each other.

I don't know if I would use character to describe Donaldson. He did ask the Angels pitching coach or whoever it was to suck his cock. I would say hes more of the I will do whatever takes to win kind of guy. Not to say he isn't likeable. Other teams don't like them because hes been raping *******s all season.

Being a hotheaded ******* is not the same as a clubhouse cancer.

Yep, Donaldson is not a disruption to this team. He's an intense energy bunny, not a Jose Reyes igniter who will do it with flash but with substance and cerebral-ness.

It's all just narratives. Beane clearly thought he was an issue.

Exactly. One teams trash can be another teams treasure on this issue. Reyes rep was mostly bad but in terms of character I saw nothing to suggest negatives on that front. If JD'S cockiness wasn't backed up by numbers he would be getting more scruntiny on this front. It's such a subjective narrative.

Ive been a Bautista fan on this team since before he hit 54 HRs. Im not comparing Puig and Bautista per say.

Im saying that it would not be accurate to suggest that there have not been many people raise questions about Jose's character in our losing seasons and many calls to move him etc.

I even remember a thread where people complained we had too many Dominicans challenging their collective will to win and affect on chemistry. Horseshit.

Point being this is a subjective discussion and frankly....people can change with maturity and circumstance.

I think Lawrie (our trash) will be the A's trash as well.

You talk the talk, you walk the walk.

Donaldson does more than walk the walk.

Collins says Syndergaard threw about 100 pitches last night between bullpen warmup and play and might not be available to start game 2

I have bought an Olerud and a Lawrie jersey. Might get my GF to remove the name andletters from the Lawrie one.
