Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Why is Jimmy Rollins pinch hitting for Enrique (Kike) Hernandez? Wtf is Mattingly doing?
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 6 out save. Time for the Dodgers to stick the dick in. I hope its Utley that ties it or wins it. so just like that? when was the last time a closer was asked to for a 6 out save that was planned ahead of time?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 some physics stud on this board should put something to prove that at 100mph and the head-start the batter needs to do with his bat, that it is physically impossible to adjust to curveball or any breaking ball. can't prove anything but would be really cool if such an expert on BJMB could @Cyborg
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 so just like that? when was the last time a closer was asked to for a 6 out save that was planned ahead of time? It use to happen a lot. Roles are so defined now. The fact that people think closers will turn into Pumpkins if they get an extra inning has always been rediculous to me. I don't like the Dodgers but the Mets and Cubs are an absolute nightmare matchup for the Blue Jays if we advance past the Royals.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I don't know who you are referring to but ain't nobody getting fired with Angels unless they piss off Arte and it has nothing to do with performance on the field... so it seems I was referring to the Dodgers. If the Dodgers don't get to the World Series minimum, Don Mattingly likely loses his job along with much of the coaching staff, as 3 years of record payrolls have failed to bring a title to Chavez Ravine. And the Angels have fired Mike Butcher and Don Baylor already.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I am torn. I like the Dodgers to win but at the same time don't mind if the Mets do because their fans chanted "Lets go Blue Jays" against the Yankees earlier this year.
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 . And the Angels have fired Mike Butcher and Don Baylor already. I see. I thought there were more rumors of firings with the Angels. It's a soap-opera there
baubau Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 ALCS: Jays vs KC NLCS: Mets vs Cubs Who saw this coming 2 years ago?..
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Damn. That Dodgers roster was a lot more talented than this. I was hoping they'd come out of the NL.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Damn a team starting Kershaw and Grienke 4 times in a 5 game series still lose. Baseball.

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Mets rotation is nothing to sneeze at. In a 7-game series you're going to see nothing but Syndergaard, deGrom, Harvey, and Matz. That's brutal.
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 so this is the team that Yanks took 2 out of 3 from late in the season when we needed/wanted them to sweep or at least win the series ... interesting... good luck against the cubbies
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 1+1 = 3 They are going to overhaul half the roster. The future is still promising obviously and they can sign whoever they want. But this year overal they were pretty s***.

C - Grandal 1B - Gonzalez 2B - 3B - Turner SS - Seager CF - Pederson LF - Ethier/Van Slyke RF - Puig OF - Ethier/Van Slyke 2B/3B/OF - Hernandez Kershaw McCarthy Wood Urias Bolsinger Even if they don't keep Kendrick and Greinke they look primed to win 90+ games and take the NL West again next year. They don't have any holes except maybe 2B, but I imagine they'll sign Zobrist and top starter.

Great rotation, good enough offense, and a good closer. They are a scary team in a short series. Hoping the Cubs beat them, but I doubt it.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I think these teams are actually pretty evenly matched IMO, the Cubs have a better young lineup, Mets better (or just deeper) young rotation. Cubs probably have the edge in the bullpen. Either way, I'm really excited for this series. There's a lot of talented young guys on both clubs here.
