It is good to know that the Blue Jays will be facing Texas on Thursday night.

Houston and New York will play in the Wild Card game either in New York or Houston depending on the outcome of their games.

Of course, the reality of a 5 game series (especially in a sport like baseball) is that any team can lose to any team. For many reasons I hope the Jays defeat the Rangers, but one of them is certainly avoiding all the morons saying we were eliminated because we s*** away the first seed in the AL. Statistically, it was a very helpful turn of events.

How do you know this?

Wait how do we know it's at night? Could be late afternoon, no?

lol holy f*** our pythag record.

f*** how were we ever this average record-wise in the first half? It was obvious the team was extremely talented, should have been playoff bound since the beginning, with the additions of Price, Tulo, Revere and the relievers the team just simply became WS favourites.

Inb4 "Fire Gibbons".

Yeah it was really baffling. I know this will sound ridiculous to some, but even before the deadline, this team just had a different feel than other years. I'm someone that really doesn't know how not to be incredibly pessimistic, but even I honestly felt pretty good about this team for most of the season. Thankfully everything really clicked after those acquisitions, since it would have been such a waste otherwise.

Good post. Agree. I think a big part of what gave this team a diff feel was two huge upgrades @ 3B and C. Travis also gave us a lot of hope when he could/did play.

Agreed. Simply put, the team had 3-4 win upgrades at C and 3B, a noticeable upgrade at 2B, whilst only getting worse in the rotation (with the loss of Stroman) and maybe slightly worse in the bullpen. Thankfully for once we won't have to wonder what could have been.

will Hamels pitch in gm1?

If he does he'd be pitching on 3 days rest, and since he's just pitched a 9 inning complete game today (albeit with modest amount of 108 pitches) I'm guessing probably not unless they want to really push him.

Hamels can still pitch twice (games 2 and 5) on normal rest if they do this. It makes sense to have him go second, in my opinion.
