baubau Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 f***ing melvin upton lol On a side note, its pretty crazy how far this guys career has fallen. He's having a productive season overall at 1.2 WAR but a far cry from his 3-4 WAR days. Atlanta bought him at his peak! I thought the Rays were dumb for not keeping him but they've shut me up.

They generally tend to do that to people.

BJ was really one of the biggest enigma's in his prime. He was always good defensively, but everyone knew he was capable of so much more than what he was offensively since his rookie year. It was just a steady fall backwards from amazing offensively, to bad, to merely good offensively, and finally to just absolute ass since leaving Tampa. If he just gave more of a f*** out there and wasn't as lazy and immature as he was, he could've been a perennial all star.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I wouldn't call 1.2 WAR productive... Considering his two previous seasons were -.6 and .3, its a large improvement. They generally tend to do that to people. Right! It makes me hate them but appreciate what they do at the same time. Well played Rays. Well played.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Mets tied Atlanta with a 3-run homerun after going to 2 outs nobody on in the 9th.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I really want the Pirates to catch the Cardinals. Outside of the Jays hanging on to the East, that's what I most want in this year's standings. Mets tied Atlanta with a 3-run homerun after going to 2 outs nobody on in the 9th. And gave up three more in top 10 to lose it. The Braves are an absolute train wreck. At this point it's between them and the Phillies for a number 1 pick.

And, a very big series coming up between the Cubs and Pirates next... could determine home field in the wild card.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 lol coming from the guy who raged that his team wasn't playing well
4Shaw Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Really strange how the Pirates are terrible in Division. They've already lost their season series to the Brewers (8-10), and Reds (6-10 with 3 to go), but they have 7 remaining with the Cubs (5-7 so far) and 3 more with the Cardinals (8-8). Most people seem to think the Pirates will catch the Cards, but I think there's a better shot of the Cubs catching the Pirates. With essentially only division games left, the Pirates need to show something against the Central, or they'll be fighting for their playoff lives in Wrigley.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Could be costly in the postseason..makes me wonder if the Royals are one and done in the postseason, likely not getting past one of the Yankees/Rangers/Twins/Astros.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Cueto is just getting pounded by the Orioles....even with his little hesitation and quick pitch moves. Nothing working for him.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Concerning news for the Astros division (and possibly postseason hopes).. get used to more Rasmus/Marisinick in CF. Astros have lost 7 of 11, and facing an absolute must-win series vs. the Rangers:

Nothing working for him. Can't get a win to save his life; the trade so far, in hindisight, must be aggravating. Then again NL v. AL, Dickey/Samarw.ethef***therestofhisname is same problems.

Yessir Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 We're the Jays supposed to get Cueto before Price? He sucks!
SAAviour Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Cueto heading from 20 mil per year for 5-7 years, to a one year 20 mil deal?
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 We're the Jays supposed to get Cueto before Price? He sucks! He's good but I don't know if anyone was buying him as a top 10 pitcher like Price. I know I wasn't
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Cueto's struggles are threatening to sink the Royals' chances of getting the best record and getting a more favorable matchup.. they'd probably rather face Yankees/Twins/Rangers than have to face the Astros(or the Rangers depending on this week's performance.) Jays are now only 2.5 back of the Royals.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Cueto heading from 20 mil per year for 5-7 years, to a one year 20 mil deal? Nah. He'll probably get something like 5/100 still
