BTS Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Noah Syndergaard is so good Guy was painting with 98 mph gas in the 8th inning. 2.92 xFIP on the season now. Ace.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Noah Syndergaard is so good xFIP of 1.90 on the night. 2.92 on the year. His command for a 22 year old is godly.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Amazin' this Syndergaard guy...painful. Freakin' AA has drafted some really nice pieces, but when he decides he's gonna get a player, he makes every prospect available. He just did that to get Price and is how he seems to operate.

At least now he gives them up for players who don't rely on gimmicks. Syndergaard one is unforgivable though, any way you look at it. Can you imagine having him pitching in front of this offence?
baubau Verified Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 So I made my dad watch the final inning of his dominance and tells me that he'd still make that Syndergaard trade for Dickey cause he likes Dickey and s***. I swear, it's like I'm living with LTBF. Maybe LTBF is your dad! *dun dun dun* Plus your pop's has to like Sanchez and Hoffman more. Its more like you're living with AA really. I think I love Noah Syndergaard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXw6znXPfy4

It's doubtful they'd have the same roster, but having him would be awesome. It would also likely mean they wouldn't have made the moves prior to trading him so you could argue they'd have guys like Desclafani as well. Also, they would arguably have gotten a very high pick in the 2014 (2) and 2015 drafts.

Norris is not Syndergaard. I hated the Dickey trade but I think you can live with trading Devout Dan for the first playoff appearance since 1993.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 It will all be worth it when come November 4th the Jays win the world series trophy in front of a sold out crowd at Rogers Centre Bautista will hit the Game winning homerun. Sanchez with the win ( for pitching 2 perfect innings)

Not crazy about the trades, but (even) I understand there was no Syndergaard given up. I was just commenting on how when AA targets a player, he goes all out to get him and arguably makes every prospect available. This was the way I viewed his approach to the Dickey trade in that he had decided to get him, then initiated discussions with Alderson and made Syndergaard and d'Arnaud available. Anyway, at least he can say he's drafted some pretty nice players.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Yeah. Can't dispute that he's pretty good at restocking the cupboard. Dude really needs to get better at recognising player value, though.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 It's hard for me to imagine that AA couldn't have offered other pieces instead of Syndergaard. Mets were already getting Darnaud. Our farm was pretty stacked at the time. Did AA even try to offer Gose and Sanchez instead of Syndergaard who knows

If you go back and read about how the discussions began, you'll see that AA was the one who went to Alderson. I remember reading that he sat next to Alderson at the Winter Meetings and was looking to start up conversations. I think Alderson sensed that he was really motivated to make a deal and probably played hard to get to increase his already strong bargaining position. Basically, I think AA was convinced he was getting an Ace and made every prospect available. I'm sure the Mets chose who they wanted and just waited for AA to inevitably give in.
flafson Verified Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 The good thing about AA, he usually trades prospects when they are at their peak. You never see we traded a C level prospect and all of a sudden he became an A level. But yea, the Dickey trade was kinda bad... Imagine what he would have done with his current knowledge back in 2012.

I can't imagine what the boys family and player involved must be going through.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Richie Shaffer, rookie 1b for the Rays, in his first big league plate appearance: hit by pitch. Hahaha
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 How is Nate Karns so godly? Pitching well above his talent level? Even against us in St. Pete.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 f*** sakes. Already 3-0 O's. And they skip Gray.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Looks like Beltre just hit for the cycle. Only the fourth player in MLB history to have three cycles in a career.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Chris Davis just hit a three run HR. 3-0 Orioles, top of one. f*** you Chavez.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 At least the Indians have the early 1-0 lead with Kluber on the mound.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 At least the Indians have the early 1-0 lead with Kluber on the mound. Do I have permission to run with the GDT again tomorrow?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Chavez would get absolutely destroyed outside the AL West.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I say yes. We'll ride you out until you falter.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Chris Davis just hit a three run HR. 3-0 Orioles, top of one. f*** you Chavez. Orioles lineup is pretty good. Looks like Davis is back in full fledged Ritalin form.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 O's missing Gray is bs. They'll prob sweep. Gotta keep up Jays!
