I find it likely that he didn't want to give up anything good for Navarro (like a reliever) and felt that Gosewich was a suitable replacement. Not to mention that Navarro only has control for 1 year. Why throw away more valuable pieces that have more control when you are not going to contend?

Why is everyone so quick to criticize AA for a non-trade when we haven't even seen their request.

But... We know that Stewart liked Navarro more than Castillo becuse he said so AND we know what Stewart just gave up in his trade with the Mariners. I mean you can refuse to connect the dots if you want to but they're staring right at you.

It's safe to assume that the Diamondbacks were at least fine with taking on Navarro's salary and not giving any value in return. That alone would have made sense for the Blue Jays.

Their GM said HIMSELF that they really wanted Navarro. I don't have to prove that they were/should have been interested. They were.

Why do you say this? They got rid of Trumbo and saved some cash, maybe they weren't willing to taking on the salary.

Those links are from late March though, when they were up against their budget after completing the offseason. In December or January they had more flexibility.

Also, the Blue Jays could received salary back from the Diamondbacks. I have a very hard time believing the logistics never made sense.

Possibly, but remember we are dealing with the worst GM in the league here.

Yeah but Stewart isn't much better.

The Astros are getting rid of that hill in center next year. Moving in the center field wall.

Thank f***, that hill is several varieties of stupid.

Holy, the Twins are fielding like crap today.. an E4, an E6, and what should've been an E5, all in the 2nd inning. Stop giving the Sox free runs!

Probably the dumbest concept ever. Especially the flag pole?...

Footnote Rasmus has been benched like 5 of the last 6 games.

Ugh Sandoval.. 2 errors today, and this error just brought in the potential winning run... 5-4 Twins.

And to make matters worse, HanRam just let a ball go over his head, and now it's 6-4.

Ruggiano DFAd.. a good bat against lefties, but the Mariners have the worst GM in baseball in Jack Z who thinks low OBP sluggers+ bad defense in the OF = winning.

Why "ugh?". I want the Twins to win......

The "ugh" was watching Sandoval play terrible defense at 3B.. most of the AL East, including the Jays, have better 3B than Sandoval (although Headley has been lousy too.). And yes I want the Twins to win so that Farrell and Cherington get closer to being fired.

I thought he would be a decent pickup considering the lack of OF but he's exactly what the team doesn't need. He hits Lefties really well but is pretty bad vs RHP and considering teams are avoiding LHP vs the Jays lineup he most likely wouldn't be better than the Jays have. I don't want to spend 2.5 million on that either.

Rotowire told me not to worry, just a day of rest today, lol.

How does Shane Robinson get thrown out at 1st by a catcher, while it's 1st and 3rd on a 3-0 count with 2 out? Shane, ladies and gents?!?! Nice way to lose the game, lol.
