I don't understand why they didn't just give him the start. Letting a short reliever pitch two innings before turning it over to a real starter accomplished nothing.

lol @ real starter

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Very odd decision.

That and he was terrible in Seattle. Rays only brought him in due to the gutted rotation caused by injuries/illness to Cobb, Moore, Smyly and Colome.. none of Karns, Andriese or Ramirez are expected to stay with the Rays once the regulars get healthy.

Eovaldi incredibly wild.. 2 WPs this inning. And the Yanks D isn't helping either, as he gives up a 2 run single off of Daniel Nava. In comes Chris Martin..

Chris Martin sighting.

He's been okay, 4.10 xFIP.

Naw. He was hitting his spots and getting ahead the first 5 innings. Fastball was touching 97 and his splitter looked good. The 1 K inflates his xFIP but he was pitching well going into the 6th.

Edit: Apparently he touched 100, I missed that one then.

Kevin Gregg brought in to protect a 1-run lead against the top of the Cards order in the 7th.

And predictably, he gives up 2 hits and is yanked for Manny Parra. DFA Gregg already!

Do people here think we should have a Former Jays thread where we track former Jays Lolz or if things they do well?

JPA was released. Was that posted? That would be a nice thread, go ahead and start it!

**** Kevin Gregg.. Parra just gave up the tying run that was Gregg's responsibility. Only a bad Matt Carpenter baserunning error prevented it from being worse.

Not really, still getting ground balls. Bogaerts hasn't looked good at shortstop.

You have to walk three guys to "walk the bases loaded" lol

You're right

Miami is doing EVERYTHING to try to get Tampa a win... Phelps and former Jay with the best stuff in the org... in 2012, Sam Dyson, walking the park. Bases loaded now, with the tying run at the plate.. 8-4 now.
